Position Summary:

This position supervises the facilities operations and maintenance of the EILEEN FISHER Secaucus Distribution Center (DC). This role provides onsite day-to-day leadership and works with in-house Facilities staff and third-party contractors to ensure a safe, efficient, environmentally responsible and customer service-oriented work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational

  • Oversee all facility operations and repairs and maintenance including hands on repairs in the EILEEN FISHER Secaucus DC.

  • Conduct daily Secaucus DC facility inspections. Responsible for ensuring that all building systems: security cameras, office equipment/furniture, mechanical/electrical systems/boilers are in good working order.

  • Maintain proper operation of building equipment (forklifts, high-lows, pallet jacks, conveyors) by developing, conducting and enforcing preventive maintenance programs. Establish repair cadence, perform repairs and arrange for outside repair as required. Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.

  • Act as safety coordinator for the Secaucus DC. Ensure that site safety, fire protection and evacuation plans follow OSHA regulations and are documented, updated, tested and communicated to DC employees.

  • Administer the DC CPR and Fire Warden Programs. Partner with Irvington Building Supervisor to maintain CPR and Fire Warden program for all properties.

  • Ensure that equipment certifications for DC team members (forklifts, high-lows, etc) are maintained and valid. Organize trainings for DC team members.

  • Ensure that CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) requirements are being met/exceeded in the Secaucus DC at all times. Maintain checklists and enforce compliance with all CTPAT rules and regulations.

  • Liaise with sub-contractors and landlord property management team for all building repairs, oversee the work of these groups to through to completion. Ensure that best practices are being used per company standards.

  • Manage inventory and ordering of all custodial and maintenance supplies for the Secaucus DC.

  • Manage and execute all physical space set ups, in partnership with EF DC Leaders, for events from initial discussion through to execution and break down.

  • Travel to Irvington, NY Corporate offices, Tri-State area stores/pop up showrooms as needed for hands on repairs (electrical/carpentry/plumbing/mechanical), supervision, set ups and other dept/company needs.

  • Partner with Director of Facilities and P & C to communicate and implement building policies and practices.

  • Partner with Director of Facilities to establish Secaucus Facility budgets. Manage expenses and perform monthly/quarterly reviews to ensure adherence to established budgets.

  • Solicit proposals from vendors/contractors. Review proposals, negotiate pricing/contracts through to award. Review invoices for accuracy and follow through to invoice payment.

  • Provide project status/departmental activity updates to Department Leaders on a weekly basis and as needed.

  • Liaise with Architecture Team on DC construction projects - provide onsite supervision of sub-contractors and project management for small to medium size remodel projects. Order building materials for smaller projects.

  • Partner with the Architecture Team to maintain and manage inventory of furniture/fixtures in that stored in the DC for use in new stores and remodels. Act as main contact for receipt, storage and shipping/pick up of items.

  • Provide logistic, repair, maintenance and construction expertise (electrical/carpentry/plumbing/mechanical) within the department where support is required.

  • Support all EF sustainability efforts.

People Leadership

  • Provide leadership within the Facilities Team and provide back up to other Facilities Team roles as necessary to achieve department goals.

  • Supervise custodian(s) and custodial/labor temps in daily cleaning practices, meeting/event set-up responsibilities and building coverage protocol.

  • Oversee performance of custodial/maintenance staff, provide coaching and mentorship to team members.

Required Experience

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Experience:

  • 7+ Years Experience in Commercial Building maintenance and supervision and a minimum of 2 years managing direct reports. Preferably in a Distribution Center, Manufacturing or Warehouse setting.

  • Must possess strong communication skills - verbal and written, as well as confidence in negotiating timelines and pricing.

  • Clean Driver's License Required

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Must have strong customer service approach to your work. Ability to partner successfully with a variety of individuals and teams - inside and outside the company.

  • Strong computer skills including outlook, excel and word. PowerPoint a plus.

  • Must be able to work from step ladders, 20 ft extension ladder and high lift equipment. Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings.

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.

  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus.

  • OSHA 30 certification a plus. Must be willing to obtain upon hire (at company expense) if not currently certified.

Professional Experience: Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing Skills. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to delegate work, coach, motivate and lead a team.

Travel Required: Occasional travel as needed to local stores and EF Irvington Offices for special projects/on-site supervision and general repairs and maintenance as needed.

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Supervises: Sr. Custodian, Custodians, and Temps

Has Contact With: All EF Employees

Location: Secaucus, NJ (On Site) Work Schedule: 40 Hours/Week, Mon-Fri 8am - 4pm and weekends as needed. Night and weekends for Emergencies

The hiring salary range for this role is $35.00- $40.00/hr. dependent upon experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer competitive benefits including a generous clothing allowance and a wellness reimbursement program.
