Our building Services team is comprised of a versatile and skilled team that performs maintenance and general building services within our facilities to ensure our buildings are kept in optimal condition. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Building Services. Under the direction of the supervisor of building services, the role performs technical and general maintenance and general grounds and labor tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventative maintenance and complete the maintenance logs.

  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of the building to include plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and shop.

  • Maintains lighting system throughout the facilities including, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs.

  • Performs grounds maintenance, including sweeping, leaf blowing, and painting.

  • Cargo handling (palletizing shipments, loading truck, moving cargo, etc.).

  • Restocking packaging areas with shipping supplies, such as boxes and crates.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years of maintenance experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing repair person services and the use of basic hand and power tools.

  • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and ladders.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is interchangeably required to sit, stand, and walk during their shift.

  • Employees may be required to bend, stoop or kneel to grab supplies and or materials

  • The employee may be required to reach at or below shoulder level and reach overhead for short to moderate periods.

  • Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish sounds and speak clearly.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Report safety hazards immediately to the supervisor or safety manager.

  • Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage.

  • Wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection, face masks (N-95), and hand protection as instructed by immediate supervisor.

  • Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules.

  • Refuse any unsafe task or operation.

  • Participate in safety meetings and training.

  • Be constantly aware of their personal safety and that of their coworkers.

CONDITIONS:

  • A mix of outdoor non-temperature controlled and indoor workshop controlled temperature environments.

  • The noise level in the work environment is will vary based on the work on the work being performed as well as the use of machinery.

  • The position is based in Miami, FL

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM must be willing and able to work some Saturdays or stay beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet business demands.
