Job Description Job Description Position Overview: We are looking for a highly motivated and physically active individual to join our team as a Building Porter/Maintenance professional stationed in Greensburg, PA, within the Pittsburgh area This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities.
The ideal candidate will perform daily repair tasks, address maintenance needs, and support life safety compliance to ensure a well-maintained and safe environment for all. Key Responsibilities: General Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine repairs such as replacing light bulbs, drivers, ballasts, and ceiling tiles. Complete small patch and paint jobs as required. Hang decor, artwork, TVs, and other fixtures as needed.
Plumbing Maintenance: Conduct faucet repairs, trap replacements, toilet repairs, seat replacements, and address issues with sloan valves, diaphragms, handles, and spigots. Manage water shut-offs and plumbing emergencies.
HVAC Support (Minimal): Review information in the BAS (Building Automation System) without making adjustments. Use thermostats, change filters, and assist with basic troubleshooting to report issues to property managers and vendors. Educate tenants on thermostat use.
Porter Duties: Keep common areas clean, including outdoor spaces and sidewalks. Handle restroom cleanups, including responses to body fluids, and other emergency cleaning needs.
Additional Responsibilities: Conduct minor floor repairs, door handle replacements, and cabinet door adjustments. Assist with snow removal when necessary.
Perform temporary roof repairs, respond to leaks and odors, and determine resolutions for maintenance issues. Life Safety Compliance: Conduct regular life safety inspections and maintain documentation per NFPA standards.
Ensure that facilities remain in compliance with safety regulations, a key responsibility that elevates this role beyond traditional maintenance. Qualifications: Proven experience in general building maintenance and repair tasks. Basic understanding of HVAC systems and the ability to monitor BAS information.
Experience with life safety compliance and familiarity with NFPA standards. Ability to handle minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Additional Information: This role is essential to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our buildings. The Building Engineer will frequently interact with tenants, contractors, and the management team to ensure a high standard of service and compliance.
