Willdan Engineering has current openings for part-time ICC Certified Building Official in the San Bernardino, CA area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect new construction and renovations to ensure compliance with building codes and ordinances.

• Issue building permits and review plans and specifications.

• Investigate complaints and issue citations for code violations.

• Negotiate with developers and contractors to resolve code compliance issues.

• Provide information and assistance to the public on building codes and regulations.

• Maintain records and prepare reports.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• ICC building official certification.

• ICC building inspector and/or plans examiner a plus.

• Five years of experience.

• Strong understanding of building codes and regulations.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in code enforcement.

• Experience in resolving code compliance disputes.
