The Building Maintenance Worker will perform duties in support of the operation of the Central Plant, which provides heating and cooling for university physical facilities.
What you'll do:
Responsible for the entire plant clean appearance, to include among daily duties sweeping, mopping, stocking restrooms, removal of trash and debris from inside and outside power plant
Painting of entire plant and all machinery. Painting to be accordance with OSHA rules.
Maintain inventory control and issuing parts and material to employees. Receiving and logging material from vendors into the stockrooms
General Supervision: Proceeds on regular tasks, referring questionable situations to supervisor
Monitor, receives, and records fuel oil levels
Receive incoming deliveries. Ensure adequate supply of paper products daily
Ensure that all plant offices, bathrooms, floors are kept clean
Assist in maintenance and operation of plant equipment. Assist other trades in repairing steam, chill water, condensate, and domestic water lines
What you bring:
High School Degree or GED equivalent required with two years' experience performing general building maintenance work utilizing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lock out tag out and basic HVAC maintenance skills

Ability to adhere to the highest safety standards
Ability to follow directions when assisting other power plant trades.

Willingness to develop technical proficiency in some software applications (Maximo, SAP, ADP etc.)

This Plant has been designated as a National Exemplary Plant with visitors coming from around the world, the person occupying this position must understand the importance of keeping the Power Plant in excellent condition both inside and outside
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to use windows personal computer, calculator, etc.
Ability to lift light to medium weight objects. Could involve some lifting < />
Ability to performed work from ladders or scaffolds, on top of boilers, next to hot steam driven equipment, and near rotating equipment.
Ability to push and pull objects.
Ability to perform work in an abnormal sitting or standing position.
Ability to perform work inside confined spaces, manholes and crawl spaces.
Ability to use ENGIE's vehicles in compliance with ENGIE rules.
Must have valid driver's license
