Job Duties

This position is key to having a solid base of knowledge and experience in the various maintenance and construction trades. This should include working experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and overall general maintenance responsibilities, including knowledge of the associated materials, tools, fixtures, and related building codes.

Additionally, this position is central to constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining any other building component(s) required to preserve the physical appearance and efficient operational order of all homes and offices located at the Facility.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to install, construct, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various building components such as (but not limited to): appliances, fixtures, furniture, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, windows, roofing, siding, electrical fixtures (outlets, lights, switches) or other items deemed necessary.

Ability to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various plumbing fixtures, pumps, water supply and drainage lines (including drain backups and soldering of water lines).

Ability to lift or move heavy objects and/or furniture.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

Ability to understand mechanical diagrams and blueprints.

Valid Virginia Driver's License.
