The Arizona Pioneers' Home is a continuing care retirement home operated and funded by the State of Arizona. The Home provides care and services to residents living independently, as well as to those requiring personal, assisted living, intermediate and skilled care.

Building Maintenance Technician I

Arizona Pioneers' Home (APH) has an immediate opening for a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician I. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and a high emphasis on grounds maintenance. We're looking for a professional who can take the initiative and help anticipate problems before they occur. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with tenants, visitors and anyone else he or she encounters on the job.
Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and/or assisting maintenance staff.
Moving of furniture and belongings under the supervision of the Physical Plant Director and with direction from higher classification Maintenance staff.
Attending training sessions and staff meetings
Assisting other department staff as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Basic construction, preventative, and grounds care methods
Occupational safety guidelines
Apply safe, efficient, and productive skills to basic construction, preventative maintenance, and ground care methods.
Communicate with others of different ethnic, cultural, religious, and social backgrounds in a professional manner with specific regard to customer service.
Work varied hours and weather conditions.
The ideal candidate would have
Good knowledge, skills, and ability with grounds care methods and equipment.
Patching and painting of varied wall medias.
