JOB SUMMARY:

Arizona Pioneers' Home (APH) has an immediate opening for a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician I. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and a high emphasis on grounds maintenance. We're looking for a professional who can take the initiative and help anticipate problems before they occur. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with tenants, visitors and anyone else he or she encounters on the job.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and/or assisting maintenance staff.

  • Moving of furniture and belongings under the supervision of the Physical Plant Director and with direction from higher classification Maintenance staff.

  • Attending training sessions and staff meetings

  • Ground maintenance

  • Assisting other department staff as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Basic construction, preventative, and grounds care methods

  • Occupational safety guidelines

Skill in:

  • Application of basic construction, preventative maintenance, and grounds care methods.

Ability to:

  • Apply safe, efficient, and productive skills to basic construction, preventative maintenance, and ground care methods.

  • Communicate with others of different ethnic, cultural, religious, and social backgrounds in a professional manner with specific regard to customer service.

  • Work varied hours and weather conditions.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE:

The ideal candidate would have

  • Good knowledge, skills, and ability with grounds care methods and equipment.

  • Patching and painting of varied wall medias.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT:

  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license

Second Street, Prescott Valley, Arizona 86312 JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for performing highly skilled diagnostic, inspections, and mechanical repairs of electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems on a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel powered internal combustion engines. * Inspect a wide variety of automotive and/or heavy construction equipment in accordance with safety/scheduled preventative maintenance checklists. * Service/repair a wide variety of automotive and/or heavy construction equipment on-site using a mobile repair/lube truck. * Operate vehicles and/or equipment requiring a driver's license and/or CDL. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge in * Power/drive train system inspection, diagnosis and repair procedures. * Electrical systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures. * Electronic control systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures. * Computerized diagnostic analyzer use procedures and practices. * Hydraulic systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures. * Operating principles of gasoline and diesel powered internal combustion engines. * Fleet maintenance shop safety principles and practices. * Record keeping principles and practices. Skills in * Repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, electronic and automotive/heavy construction equipment. * Operating computerized diagnostic analyzer equipment. * Estimating time cost of repair maintenance work for a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment. * Scheduling/coordinating automotive/heavy construction equipment service and repair to maximize utilization. Ability to * Follow oral and written instructions. * Interpret repair manuals, service bulletins and recall bulletins. * Utilize a PC and PC programs. * Manage time effectively. * Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 90 lbs; pass a physical exam. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS The preferred candidate will have five years of journey level experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of light automotive and heavy construction equipment or education/training from a certified/accredited school. Education may be substituted on a month-for-month basis for the experience, up to a maximum of two years. Ideal candidate will have ASE certification and/or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck, Bus or Heavy Equipment Manufacturers certifications. MACS (Mobile Air Conditioning Society) Certification is required. Employment is contingent upon passing a medical/physical examination. Successful candidate must have their own tools for the position. This position requires flexibility with work hours and days/nights, weekends and holidays to accommodate emergency repair work and varied schedules.
