  • Creating an innovative and improving work environment This position maintains the interior of City buildings and facilities. It does this by maintaining floors and bathrooms, disposing of trash, and completing electrical and plumbing work requests.

    Other duties may include providing assistance to various departments, assembling furniture, and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees. Essential Functions This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position.

    The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. Maintains the interior of facilities by repairing floors, bathroom fixtures, water fountains, pumps, doors and hardware, painting, and other general maintenance activities. Completes electrical work requests by replacing lights, ballasts, light switches and electric plugs, making extension cords, installing security cameras and systems and performing preventative maintenance of electrical systems.

    Completes plumbing work requests by replacing flush valve kits, bowl wax and faucets, unclogging drains and commodes and performing preventative maintenance on plumbing systems. Provides assistance to various departments by delivering furniture and supplies, assembling furniture and work stations, installing electrical and computer lines in workstations, setting up for meetings and events and picking up and delivering mail. Completes basic HVAC repairs/pump repair by installing filters, cleaning condensers, troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.

    Job Requirements Education & Experience Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: High School diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of relevant work experience Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

    Certification and Other Requirements Valid Class C Drivers License. Overall Physical Strength Demands Medium

  • Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Supplemental Information Reading Basic

  • Ability to recognize meaning of common two- or three-syllable words. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school.
