What you can expect:
The Building Maintenance Assistant responds to and resolves facilities-related issues regarding mechanical, electrical, and plumping (MEP) systems. This role involves conducting inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures, as well as maintaining an inventory of systems equipment. The Building Maintenance Assistant works under the guidance of the Manager of Engineering Services.
How you will make an impact:
Responds to and resolves facilities-related emergencies or urgent issues as they arise during normal business hours and off-hours, as necessary.
Completes daily and monthly inspection reports to ensure all sites are in compliance with HRSA, OSHA, and other local, state, and federal governing bodies with regard to safety standards and procedures.
Assists with facilities reporting and emergency response.
Maintains and inventories systems equipment and supplies, ensures physical inventory in maintained in good working condition, and reports any needs for new or updated equipment.
Conducts diagnostic and light remediation work submitted through the work request system from HBH staff and resolves facility-related issues including performing minor repairs and general maintenance.
Attends all necessary trainings and continued education offerings, to continue emergency diagnostic and remediation work.
Assists in developing building maintenance-related procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures for addressing MEP issues.
Provides timely and cost-effective remediation work on necessary projects.
Assists with monitoring and overseeing work orders that require external vendor support.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Valid current U.S. driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing diagnostics and/or remediation.
Ability to operate basic power tools within safety standards.
Knowledge of light demolition and construction work.
Effective communication skills in written and oral formats.
Beginning to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office tools.
Knowledge of computer and cell phone usage with the ability to learn new applications.
Ability to use healthcare-grade cleaning equipment and work safely with cleaning supplies.
