We are growing and expanding our Building and Code services in St. Louis to provide building plan reviews and inspections. Currently we are seeking ICC Certified Building Officials, ICC Certified Building Inspectors, IDPH Certified Plumbing Inspectors, and ICC Certified Code Enforcement officers to join our team in the greater St. Louis, MO area.
Our Building and Code teams work with HR Green municipal clients as the designated authority in charge of the administration of building and code enforcement as dictated by the adopted building codes and local, State, and Federal codes, ordinances, amendments and regulations for all building and structures including plan review and inspection/observation of building construction and alterations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the execution of assigned municipal projects from permit plan submittal through final occupancy.
Ensures Municipal compliance with building and code criteria; develops and maintains standards for construction methods and materials; and oversees the inspection/observation of all public and private buildings for compliance with the adopted building codes and local, state or federal codes.
May provide training on technical code related topics and operational processes and procedures related to the Municipal development review and inspection process.
Review information and interpretations regarding the various codes, laws and regulations regarding building construction to architects, engineers, contractors, home owners, and others in connection with the application of building and zoning codes and regulations to various construction projects.
Attends and participates in professional association meetings and stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of building inspection, plan checking and code enforcement.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
2-year technical degree from an accredited college with courses in architecture, building construction, construction management or a closely-related field.
Experience in construction, design, or inspection of buildings and structures or in construction trades.
Computer proficiency and demonstrated knowledge of computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases required.
Knowledge of existing building and zoning codes and regulations, and the processes and considerations involved in prosecuting violation of such codes and regulations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings as needed is required.
Must possess a valid Driver's License, and able to operate a motor vehicle. The ideal candidate would preferably possess ICC Residential and Commercial Certifications or similar certifications including but not limited to Plans Examiner, Residential Building Inspector and Commercial Building Inspector and Code Enforcement and have 2 to 5 years of experience working at a municipal building department.
