The Building / Grounds Custodian performs general maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds. Duties include minor building repairs involving carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and sidewalk maintenance including snow removal.

Major Areas of Accountability

Maintains exterior sidewalks, windows, window planters and entries; removes snow and ice.

Maintains interior building areas; removes debris and spillage. Communicates with contract cleaning company on day-to-day issues.

Adjusts area temperatures; make minor furniture moves and repairs. Replenishes plumbing and restroom supplies as needed; re-lamps fixtures.

Repairs all minor building physical needs, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, minor wall touch-ups; paints public areas.

Maintains an inventory of maintenance tools and supplies

Makes recommendations for building improvements; reports all safety, plumbing, electrical and HVAC problems. Works with building occupants and staff in a friendly, courteous manner while adjusting workstations, etc, or providing maintenance assistance.

Minimum Qualifications :

Two years' work experience in building maintenance

Willingness to alter work hours as needed

High school graduate or equivalent

Valid driver's license

One year of post high school maintenance program preferred

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Wastewater Facility Operator Trainee reporting to the Wastewater Supervisor. The Facility Operator Trainee position performs tasks related to customer service and the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, emergency repair, relocation, and retirements of all facilities related to the wastewater collection system and the wastewater treatment facilities located in Willowbrook division. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Perform a wide variety of customer service, operating, maintenance and custodial duties. Tasks of the incumbent include, but are not limited to: * Operate and maintain the facilities and equipment related to the wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, and collection systems. * Operate and maintain the vehicles and equipment used in wastewater facilities. * Perform and record inspections, tests, and data on the systems' and facilities' operations. * Record measurements, verify drawings, and record data for proper record keeping and reporting on the Company's facilities. * Prepare reports required by the Company, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, the Illinois Commerce Commission, or other jurisdictional entities. * Collect, analyze, and record wastewater samples for regulatory compliance and process control monitoring for proper operation of the systems. * Operation of laboratory equipment and perform routine wastewater analysis. * Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs and trouble shoot operational problem on all equipment and facilities. * Responsible for the care of the office and grounds in and around the Company facilities. * Maintain relations with customers and local leaders. * Must be available for overtime work, weekend work, on-call rotation and emergency call out duty to maintain wastewater service continuously to the public. * Performing the duties listed above in a safe manner following OSHA, IDOL, USDOT, Company and any other applicable safety related rules and regulations. * Other duties as assigned. SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS: * Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent. * Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office applications, as well as other software applications used in the normal course of business. * Must have a valid U.S. Drivers License. * Preferred candidate should have the ability to understand technical drawings, schematics, and manuals of wastewater facilities and equipment. * Within 3 years of employment, candidate must obtain a IEPA Class 3 Wastewater Treatment Works Operator license. * Ability to lift 50 lbs.
