Building & Environmental Services Technician

The primary goal of the Facilities Management Department is to economically provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and attractive environment for all members of the university community. Facilities Management will support the University's mission through an ongoing commitment to excellence in service and efficiency.

Description of Work

The primary purpose of the position is to maintain lawns, flowerbeds and shrubberies while using hand and power trimmers, mowers, tractors and perform other grounds beautification tasks as requested.

Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position

Knowledge-Technical: Reads work schedules and diagrams of buildings to arrive at the assigned work area on a timely basis. Mows and trims lawns and shrubberies to a height using hand and power trimmers, and performs other grounds keeping tasks as requested

Interpersonal Skills: Communicates with fellow workers in a manner that allows work to be completed.

Customer Service: Listens and responds to customer needs promptly and respectfully.

Communication: Listens to instructions, asks necessary questions to complete tasks.

Safety and Health Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines for the equipment as assigned.

Minimum Training and Experience

Graduation from High School or possession of a GED, and one year of experience in the area assigned or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation Management Preferences Class Salary Range $33,540-$47,847 Position Recruitment Range $33,540-$33,835 Position Category Staff Position Status Permanent Full Time FLSA Non Exempt Work Hours (i.e. 8:00-5:00pm, etc.) 6:30 a.m.
