The building engineer is responsible for the facilities management of an approximately 400,000 square foot office building. The building engineer will ensure that facility construction projects and maintenance operations conform to all posted government codes and regulations. This position will also ensure that all construction and maintenance jobs conform to the high quality standards required of an Internal Class A facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hire and manage a staff of 40 people including engineering and maintenance personnel

  • Manage building electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, fire control, video security and HVAC systems

  • Provide and track yearly engineering and maintenance budgets

  • Review, critique and approve tenant improvement construction packages

  • Interface with local government agencies such as Fire, Elevator and Safety inspector

Learn more information at [ Link Removed ] This position will measure, analyze, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes in the foundry. They will have a hands-on understanding of the process and they will define process information for newly released parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for establishing the process definition for new parts and verifying the production process produces a quality part. Provide gate and riser design and utilize solidification software when necessary. * Responsible for evaluating defects, determining root cause, developing counter-measures, and implementing corrective actions. * Responsible for collecting and analyzing data to understand process performance and the sources of variation. Then, improve the process by implementing effective controls. * Create, audit and improve standard work and job breakdown information in conjunction with the area leader. * Work with maintenance and area leaders in evaluating equipment and processes. * Lead capital projects through requirement definition, option selection, justification, and implementation. * Actively support the needs of production personnel. * Lead and actively participate in continuous improvement, problem-solving and Kaizen activities * Interfaces with pattern shop, melt, production, quality, maintenance and product engineering personnel. Ability to simply explain complex topics. * Excellent user of MS Office * Positive teamwork orientation * Go and see, hands-on understanding of the process * Fundamental understanding of lean principles * Project management * Multitasking Education and Experience Requirements * Bachelor's degree in engineering required. * 3 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing operation required. * Experience in an iron sand cast foundry preferred. * Lean manufacturing experience in a foundry/machine shop preferred. * Demonstrated leadership skills resulting in measure improvement and sustainability. Physical Demand and Work Environment: Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, light radiation, paint or oil products, and weather changes. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift. Primarily in the foundry environment, secondarily performing office work. Physical requirements include standing and walking for long periods of time, navigating elevated walkways and lifting, bending, and kneeling.
