Position Description:

The purpose of the position is to provide custodial services to the assigned building on Valley City State University grounds. Perform daily custodial duties for routine cleaning and upkeep of your assigned building, move furniture and equipment, collect waste and recycling.

Perform other custodial related duties such as cleaning, renovating and renewing floor surfaces; cleaning windows, walls, carpets, woodwork, offices, labs, classrooms, and restrooms; clean and dust furnishings; maintaining snow and ice. Assist in the set up and tear down of special events.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, ability to lift and move 50 pounds, physical ability to perform routine custodial duties, knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in cleaning and upkeep of buildings, ability to follow communicated instruction and work independently after instructions, must possess computer usage skills, excellent interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior cleaning or custodial experience in a school or university setting, minimum of one-year custodial work experience.

Compensation:

$28,000 - $30,000 annually and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
