Principals Evaluated By: Principals Position Function/Job Purpose: This position is designed for the purpose of providing substitute coverage for teachers and staff members in grades Preschool through Grade 6.
Carries out lesson plans written by teachers. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary and enforces school policy. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff. Experience with elementary curriculum.
Experience with developmentally appropriate social-emotional learning programs and/or curriculum.
Experience teaching/leading elementary aged children. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Provide appropriate feedback on work. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies. Prepare required reports on students and activities for the teacher of staff member covered.
Participate in department, school, district professional development. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare classroom for class activities.
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following: Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
Participate in appropriate professional activities. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment:
Be able to work in a close environment Be able to work in moderately noisy environment Be able to handle frequent interruptions Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs. Be physically and emotionally capable of carrying-out responsibilities and duties in a busy, computerized environment.
This position requires hand/wrist movement as in writing or using a computer keyboard/mouse and moderate to frequent exertion in body movements such as reaching, bending and twisting. Vision requirements include the ability to read routine and complex documents and to use a computer.
