JOB SUMMARY: The Building Automation Controls Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of building automation direct digital controls for commercial HVAC systems. The primary worksites will be existing commercial facilities and new commercial construction projects. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter and willing to work as part of a team. The job may require extended overnight travel out of the area of the employees residence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure building automation hardware, including device controllers, sensors, panels, actuators, and thermostats.

  • Wire low-voltage (50 VAC and under) control systems and network communication.

  • Assemble control panels according to specifications.

  • Read construction blueprints and controls drawings efficiently.

  • Interpret wiring diagrams and understand the sequence of operations for control systems.

  • Communicate effectively with the customer, jobsite foreman and other team leaders.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Leadership and effective communication.

  • Basic understanding of BAS (Building Automation Systems) processes and methods.

  • Strong time management and project management abilities.

  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and light industrial plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.

  • Comfortable working at heights greater than 10 feet and confined spaces

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; trade-related technical school experience is a plus.

  • Fluent communication in English (both written and verbal).

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in the mechanical electrical industry.

  • Familiarity with various field concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Valid Pennsylvania Drivers License and Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.

The employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
