A key member of the Albireo Energy SERVICE team, the BMS/BAS Programmer will be responsible for developing, creating, supporting, maintaining, and servicing Graphics, User Interfaces, Databases and Programs for building automation systems / building management systems in commercial and institution facilities

  • Create, write, revise and troubleshoot where applicable, Software databases, programs, coding, graphics, etc. utilizing industry and company standards. Test and validate existing and new programs and graphics.
  • Supports the installation, configuration, maintenance and service of workstations, servers, and networks working with clients IT organization.
  • Includes the integration of various HVAC and Electrical systems including BACnet, MODBUS and IP networking
  • Provides preventive maintenance services, emergency service support and repairs as necessary on above and related systems.
  • Assist in startup and commissioning of large HVAC systems, such as AHUs, chiller plants, or other utilities systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, HVAC and electrical issues as related to the BMS Control system operation.
  • Experience with various BMS / BAS Systems including writing programs, creating databases and graphics required. Experience with Niagara Tridium preferred.


  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
  • Degree may be offset by 5-7 years of experience with the programming of ATC/BAS systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical HVAC equipment and sequence of operations.
  • Experience with building automation programming (Function Block, Ladder, or Text-based preferred) or other programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java, VBA).
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and network wiring and the programming of BAS components.
  • Excellent computer skills and strong understanding of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access); Visual Basic, Visio.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Ability to travel to and work on construction sites for commissioning/startup.
  • Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.

VIEW JOBS 10/22/2022 12:00:00 AM 2023-01-20T00:00 <p>Job Details</p><p>What you will do</p><p>As a Controls Technician, for our HVAC division, you will under general direction, act as an on-site Technician to plan, execute, and complete the commissioning of control system projects for assigned customer projects. Perform tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including; hardware checkout &amp; calibration, controller &amp; system configuration/programming, system &amp; network commissioning, and project commissioning &amp; closeout documentation. Collaborate with subcontractors, electrical installers, project managers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary. You will be responsible for the overall operational performance and successful completion of assigned projects. Maintaining an effective balance between customer satisfaction and project execution results. Coordinates communication with the project manager &amp; customer during all phases of the project, actively pursues selling change orders. Ensure work performed is in compliance with state, local and Federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics.</p><p>How you will do it</p><ul><li><p>Attend Project Turnover meetings to interpret and understand the scope of work</p></li><li><p>Evaluate the contractual scope of work, associated project tasks, impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and / or scheduling changes with Project Manager/Team.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for creation of project commissioning documents prior to project execution.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for planning and timely execution of assigned projects and associated project tasks.</p></li><li><p>Proactively Identify Risk/Clarify Items, such as HVAC and Building Automation/Energy Management Systems: Sequence of Operation and Mechanical misapplication, Contradictions/Misses/Gaps in Direct and Tangible Scope, Value-Add/Engineered Items at the beginning and throughout project duration.</p></li><li><p>Coordination and Execute multiple, simultaneous Building Automation System/HVAC/Integration projects of various complexities.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate and schedule Shared Resources with fellow Project Managers</p></li><li><p>Determine order of Task execution required to meet Customers scheduled milestones and monitor progress of execution against allocated task time.</p></li><li><p>Perform Calibration and Verification of Control components and associated end devices, while completing commissioning verification checkout documents.</p></li><li><p>Perform Controller checkout, configuration, operation and integration into the system architecture and operator interface.</p></li><li><p>Perform Controller Configuration/Programming to align with associated mechanical arrangement and required Sequence of Operation.</p></li><li><p>Perform Standard and Custom Sound Programming Practices for HVAC Equipment &amp; Building Automation Systems.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate Documents and Software Backups associated with Project Execution.</p></li><li><p>Foster and maintain good working relationships with subcontractors.</p></li><li><p>Actively pursue additional business through change orders;
