Building And Grounds Manager

Job Purpose:

Ensures the safety and security of staff, clients and guests by coordinating the Facilities Team regarding preventive maintenance, repairs, campus events, and projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supports Facilities director by coordinating and supervising projects as assigned; assisting with small capital projects; performing building and grounds duties.

• Responsible for communication to team members by providing needed information and leadership to crew members on their assigned duties.

• Upholds "Broken Windows" standards by driving the Broken Windows program, including monitoring losses and damages by receiving reports on irregularities; validating that work orders have been submitted for repairs.

• Supports Operations by performing buildings and grounds maintenance, monitoring campus safety and off-grounds properties.

• Supports Equine Services by providing input for equine use, care, sheltering and selection.

• Supports environmental safety by completing meter readings and testing of well water systems.

• Ensures excellence as a team by evaluating work practices; developing and implementing standards; ensuring completion of departmental goals.

• Maintains staff job results by training, coaching, and counseling staff; setting staff goals, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback; appraising job results.

• Provides quality leadership to direct reports by demonstrating a relational, transparent, humble, inclusive, and empowering management style; incorporating wise biblical stewardship of facilities and resources.

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

• Protects the credibility of the Rawhide mission by complying with the Rawhide standard of conduct; setting an example, in words and actions, that is consistent with the values and beliefs of Rawhide.

• Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as directed or assigned by supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise project completion and assist staff with grounds repair through communication and upholding safety standards and procedures.

• Empower and educate staff through workshops, bible stewardship, and professional societies.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of maintenance experience

• 1-3 years of supervisory experience or willingness to complete training through Rawhide's LMS system

• Experience operating heavy equipment

• Ability to manage and delegate maintenance tasks to technicians

• Strong customer service skills
