COLSA Corporation is seeking candidates for Architect positions in support of the 88th Civil Engineering Group at Wright Patterson, AFB In support of the EPASS Staff #42 contract!

  • Performs planning and design work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities to include utility systems

  • Prepares, develops or reviews design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, underlying analysis, technical drawings, and specifications

  • Provides guidance to develop standard architecture and interior design policy guidance, space allocations, furnishings and design criteria

These positions are contingent upon funding and selection.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3-10 years of related experience.

  • US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with: BUILDER and/or TRIRIGA

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs design studies to include generation of initial drawings and resolution of comments in order to produce final products * Performs facilities related design studies which include floor plans, room layouts, color selections, and fabric recommendations * Infrastructure designs include electrical, mechanical, and other utilities affecting interior and exterior settings. Prepares bill of materials associated with design studies * Provide design and management support under the Engineering Services and Support Branch (RXOE) for the Air Force Research Laboratorys Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/RX) - 500,000sqft across 10 buildings * Support efforts include laboratory renovations, equipment integrations, facility infrastructure upgrades/repairs, graphic/visual communications, etc. * Gather facility requirements from customers and translating into actionable documents (designs, planning documents, Base Civil Engineering proposals, etc.) as necessary * Responsible for oversight, coordination, assessment and communication for multiple on-going facility projects, providing engineering evaluations * Coordinate various aspects of construction and maintenance efforts (such as outages, phasing, movement of personnel and or equipment, etc.) between RX researchers and contractors * Report all findings, observations, and deficiencies in accordance with safety, construction, local code/guidelines and provide engineering solutions directly to the Facility Manager * Perform quality assurance duties, reviews, and status updates for various facility and research equipment repair and maintenance projects REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Three (3) to ten (10) 10 years of experience * Bachelor or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering * Journeyman performs all functional duties independently DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: * AutoCAD Experience (1-3 years) * Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.)
