The Building Access Assistant is responsible for access control, operation and monitoring of panel control equipment, operation of computerized control systems, deliveries, customer service, emergency and maintenance response, and specific event duties.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the purpose and function of electronic and pneumatic control panels.

  • Ability to read and interpret charts and gauges is required.

  • At least two years practical experience is required.

  • Experience in customer service and with emergency response communications is preferred.

  • Operate and monitor all panel controlled equipment.

  • Operate computerized control systems.

  • Operate closed circuit television cameras.

  • Receive deliveries.

  • Customer service interactions.

  • Strong ability to multi-task.

  • Strong oral communication skills.

  • Handle emergency response communications.

Responsibilities

  • Control access into facility. Monitor security cameras and operate access alarm software for building access and overall security.

  • Control access through loading dock doors and overhead tunnel doors.

  • Manage the issuance of keys (log) and room access within the facility.

  • Operate and monitor all panel-controlled equipment.

  • Operate computerized control systems.

  • Maintain appropriate air pressure levels based on optimal pressure and changing weather patterns.

  • Control lighting, air conditioning, and exhaust systems for determined spaces.

  • Work in conjunction with the Steam Station when adjusting building heating (steam) requirements.

  • Take periodic readings of various facility system components.

  • Accept deliveries for various departments (catering, concessions, ticket office, management office, and operations).

  • Receive and provide packages from FedEx, UPS, and other couriers.

  • Notify proper personnel of deliveries.

  • Monitor contractor access points while working within the facility.

  • Respond to building maintenance problems, service alarms, power outages, and other complications.

  • Take appropriate actions and notify the proper personnel, maintenance subcontractors, and/or service personnel.

  • Contact emergency personnel based on emergencies (ambulance, fire, police, etc.) that occur within or the facility.
