The Application Engineer provides engineering, product and application support which will include simple to moderately complex designs or modifications to products and applications. In addition, the Application Engineer will also handle technical application assistance, training and technical sales support on all Festo products, pneumatic and electric.
Festo Corporation is searching for an Application Engineer to support the Electronic Light Assembly industry in the Livermore area.
Duties of this job include:
Project supports and Quality issues, specifically AMAT, Lam and Semiconductor focus customers.
As subject matter experts, AEs will work closely with the assigned Sales Representative to find the best technically sound solution for customers.
AEs will troubleshoot system failures by reviewing and recommending redesigns of schematic diagrams, in coordination with Festo AG Engineering Department and may write computer operating software programs from existing programs, or may be required to write new operating software programs based on the specifications.
May oversee installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning in accordance to specifications.
Provides technical support and training for Festo software products and tools.
Maintains product binders, consisting of technical data, application examples, competitor information, test data and additional information as needed.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
3-5 years engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of motion control using pneumatic and electric actuation.
Additional knowledge of the Silicon Valley and Semiconductor industry is a plus.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
Strong time management skills and multi-tasking capability.
Should be proficient in MS Office suite.
