Performing Arts and Technology
The Department of Performing Arts and Technology is part of University College. The mission of the Department of Performing Arts and Technology is to provide an accessible and inclusive environment where all NC State students have opportunities to develop skills and knowledge, which prepares them for a lifetime of arts engagement and a variety of careers. Essential Job Duties
The Department of Performing Arts and Technology, a part of University College and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, seeks a Budget and Scheduling Associate to serve as a member of its staff team. In recent years the department has significantly expanded its offerings while simultaneously growing an increasingly engaged alumni and donor base and it has been recently renamed to reflect a merger of dance and music faculty and programs. The successful applicant will join the department at an exciting time as it looks to launch a new music technology degree program and continue to grow its offerings for students.
The Budget & Scheduling Associate position will:
Provide guidance and support to the Department Head (DH) on department finances including reporting, allowable spending, endowment income, scholarship disbursement, and any other budget-related tasks;
Maintain and track all budget expenditures;
Provide oversight of account reconciliations for all departmental accounts and purchase cards;
Consult with the DH on budget expenditures for annual and long-range strategic budgetary planning;
Make recommendations for procedures based on the annual assessment of the process;
Execute faculty appointment letters and guest and vendor contracts;
Enter and update (as needed) the teaching schedule for the department in accordance with University timelines;
Act as a liaison with Registration and Records & DASA Human Resources, preparing accurate requests and materials for submission.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Excel and/or other database management software;
Proficiency with standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; and adaptability to the ever-changing technology within the University;
Experience with contracts and other external funding, as well as proficiency in the use of databases;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Strong organizational and analytical skills;
Self-starter with the willingness to take initiative to perform responsibilities independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Documented budget management experience;
Experience w/Google Drive (including Google Sheets, Mail, and Calendar) and PeopleSoft.
