BROADBAND POSITION - APPLICANT HIRED WILL DEPEND ON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION FOR BUDGET ANALYST, BUDGET ANALYST I OR BUDGET ANALYST II.
Performs entry level professional work by assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the university's operating budget.
Reviews requests for new accounts, assigns proper account numbers and prepares documentation; provides instructions to requesting departments in the proper use of accounts.
Prepares, reviews and processes budget transfers and position requests as appropriate.
Assists with monitoring departmental operating accounts; reviews budget projections and compares to actual performance.
Reconciles less complex monthly budgets by ledger, and prepares and updates account summaries and analyses for benefit and endowment accounts.
Participates in training and provides guidance to campus personnel regarding budgeting, creating and modifying accounts, and adjusting payroll-related data.
Assists with the preparation of the biennial Legislative Appropriations Request by compiling data from a variety of sources for submission to UH System and the Legislative Budget Board.
Assists with the annual budget process by preparing and distributing instructions and mini-buds, compiling information using the PCBud program, and producing the operating budget book and its supporting schedules.
Assists with reviewing, processing and reporting Course, Lab and Incidental Fee requests; maintains historical records on all fees.
Responds to routine inquires from campus personnel.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
Intermediate to advance skills in Microsoft Office i.e., Excel, Power Point, Word
PeopleSoft Financial experience a plus
Previous higher education experience a plus
