Job Summary

This is an Appointive, Full-time (1.0 FTE) position.

Track numerous complex grants, projects, and fee-based budgets with a variety of income sources, and different fiscal requirements.
Analyze and design budget reports and communicate the information to others.
Forecast income and expenditures for complex budgets, projects, and grants.
Develop fiscal scenarios in response to detailed questions, organize findings, develop preliminary recommendations, and prepare reports as needed.
Develop and present monthly project performance reports to leads and managers.
Manage, monitor, and enforce business processes, policies, and other governing or regulatory guidelines and regulations related to budget and planning activities.
Monitor the fiscal side of vendor contracts.
Use analytical methods to review budgets and explain budget actuals to managers and program staff.
As part of a team, work with Division management and Program Managers to develop, track and modify program budgets for salary, benefits, maintenance and operational expenses, and capital improvements.
Support program staff in increasing financial oversight skills for their programs.
Independently research and analyze a wide range of financial and business data. Prepare verbal, written, and graphic reports that describe a financial picture to audiences with a wide range of financial experience.
Use software such as Microsoft Excel to create complex budget spreadsheets.

Who should apply
A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, computer science or related field; And three years of experience with fiscal management and reporting; Or, the equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Equivalencies include:
Master's degree and 1 year of relevant experience
Associate's degree and 5 years of relevant experience
Less than an Associate's degree and 7 years of experience

Work Setting
Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment. Exposure to hazards is limited to those commonly found in government office environments.
Your office will be set up to provide personal safety, including social distancing, screening, sanitation, disinfection, and masks.
This is an exempt position, which will require occasionally working beyond the normally scheduled workweek.

When public health responds to an emergency you may be assigned duties that are outside your regular job description. This may involve responding at any time, including nights and weekends, with possible deployment to locations other than the department.
