Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Budget Analyst
The Office of Financial Management (OFM) under the Department of Administration (DofA) is comprised of the following teams: DofA Budget Team, Fiscal Services Team, and the State Agency Service Center Team.
The Budget Analyst has the responsibility to plan and oversee the fiscal management for the offices under the DofA by using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and information from the Division of the Budget, federal and state laws, and agency policies and procedures. The position is responsible for the analysis and recommendations for the financial operations, salary estimates, and financial reporting.
Duties and responsibilities consist of:
Assist in the annual budget process for all offices under the DofA; including but not limited to preparing budget documents, attending budget meetings, and entering data into budget database.
Analyze accounting entries regularly for all offices under the DofA, confirming that all transactions follow accounting rules.
Regularly review fund balances to provide feedback as requested by DofA offices.
Serve as a backup to the Management Systems Analyst.
Compile data to submit reports for the annual Statewide Cost Allocation Plan (SWCAP).
Compile and analyze data to develop various rates for the Budget Cost Indices to be published in the annual Budget Instructions.
Additional duties as required by the Office of Financial Management leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience in collecting and analyzing budget and financial data. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
