The Agricultural Shared Service Center, a department of the Division of Finance and Budget, is growing and actively recruiting a motivated, people-centered individual to join our team as a Budget Analyst. Work directly with the Dean, Directors, and Department Heads, to perform fiscal analysis, accounting, and budgeting of business activities for assigned units with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities: The budget analyst will provide timely and professional services that support or enhance the instructional, research, and service goals of the units served. This position will report to the Agriculture Shared Service Center Director and will also have direct oversight in regard to the budgeting/reporting needs of the unit as needed. This individual will be expected to maintain successful relationships and frequent communication with Department Heads and Directors from units who receive service. In addition, the Budget Analyst will handle complex financial data analysis and situations where guidelines may be broadly defined or technical, requiring careful analysis and interpretation of federal, state, and university rules, regulations, and policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting, Budgeting, and/or Finance
Knowledge of Excel and/or database functions;
Skill & Ability to:
Interpret, comprehend, and apply laws, rules, and regulations for institution, state, federal, and a variety of other funding agencies;
Research, compile, and analyze data, providing a high level of accuracy with attention to detail;
Prioritize, organize, and execute a variety of tasks simultaneously and effectively;
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with faculty, staff, and outside agencies;
Communicate information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others in person, via video conference, and/or on the telephone exercising tact, patience, discretion, and professional demeanor;
Use a computer and applicable accounting software; and
Provide outstanding customer service.
