The Phoenix Convention Center and Venues hosts a diverse range of conventions, trade shows, meetings, and entertainment events in one of the premier convention facilities in the United States. We enhance the economic virality of the downtown area, the City of Phoenix, and the state of Arizona by supporting tourism-related industries, businesses, and cultural organizations.
The Phoenix Convention Center is seeking a dedicated, professional to join their team as a Budget Analyst II. This role performs advanced professional fiscal analysis, research and reporting in support of the preparation and administration of the City budget.
Duties include:
- Supervising Fiscal Accounting Staff members (Account Clerk III, Accountant I, Accountant II).
- Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable Accounting functions.
- Preparing the operating, revenue, and capital budgets.
- Presenting budget materials to individuals, groups, and management.
- Using computer skills to prepare and report on budget activity and analysis.
- Calculating annual work order rates and preparing assessments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Perform independently using judgment based upon a broader background of experience.
- Knowledge of budgetary and financial software and systems.
- Ability to create and write reports in Excel.
SALARY
Pay Range: $61,526.40 - $105,248.20 annually.
Hiring Range: $61,526.40 -$95,451.20 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of experience in governmental budgetary and finance activities
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, or related field
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in:
- SAP or similar accounting financial systems.
- SHERPA or similar budgeting systems.
- Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
Experience in/with:
- Reviewing and posting accounts payable and accounts receivable documents.
- Supervising professional and paraprofessional accounting staff.
- Preparing complex budget documents for multiple funding sources.
- Working in a fast-paced environment.
- Researching and analyzing financial data to make budget recommendations.
- Budgetary processes and analysis.
- Working in multi-accounting tasks or functions simultaneously.
- Preparation and administration of capital budgets.
- Evaluating expenditure estimates and recommending necessary adjustments.
- Creating and writing reports in Excel.
