Salary Recruitment Range: $49,158 - $75,000

Mission of the Department of Insurance:

Primary Purpose of Position:

In close consultation with the Budget Manager, the Budget Analyst I is responsible for providing support in the preparation of the following budgets: Continuation, Expansion, Capital, Information Technology, Program, and any other required departmental budgets. The Budget Analyst provides ongoing budget monitoring, oversight, and execution, primarily through the preparation of line-item budget requests and adjustments, in accordance with the State Budget Act.

Assists in the day-to-day management of position counts and budgeted salaries and is the primary funding approver for organization management and personnel actions in the Integrated HR Payroll system; and primary approver of Budget Travel Authorizations (BTA's). This position assists in the monitoring of salary reserves and lapsed salaries and providing timely (monthly) reports to Budget Manager showing the status and balances on hand.

  • Experience with grants accounting

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

Manager's Preferences:

  • Experience with NC Integrated HR Payroll System (BEACON).

  • Experience with IBIS.

  • Experience with North Carolina State Budgeting.

  • Experience with North Carolina Financial System (NCFS)
