The Biological Chemistry (BC) group is an early stage drug discovery team within Oncology research at NIBR, focused on understanding and exploiting the molecular mechanisms of novel cancer targets for the discovery, characterization and optimization of small molecule therapeutics. We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative scientist to join our team in a hands-on role to discover the next generation of innovative cancer treatments.
Responsibilities for the role include:
Functional and mechanistic characterization of enzymes, substrates, and multi-protein complexes.
Design, development, and troubleshooting of diverse biochemical and biophysical assays for use in the assessment of both mechanism and small molecule modulation of cancer targets, including hit identification, validation, and optimization.
Analysis, interpretation, documentation, and presentation of data to the BC group and multidisciplinary project teams.
Assessment of emerging technologies with an emphasis towards the implementation of new experimental techniques enabling drug discovery.
Contribution to group organization, productivity, and expertise through collaboration and idea exchange.
