Job Description

As a critical member of the Central Command Client Aligned team, this role will is responsible for partnering with the Production Management and L2 teams of the Lines of Business that we support to help drive monitoring coverage and standards. Additionally, this individual is responsible for gathering requirements for monitoring tools, ensuring all run books are complete. Furthermore, this person is responsible for managing the continuous improvement activities facilitated through an Agile methodology.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and support monitoring solutions using Agile and DevOps methodologies and best practices and a complex technology environment

  • Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.

  • Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.

  • Provides technical direction regarding monitoring and logging to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original solutions. Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.

  • Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff.

  • Acts as expert technical resource to staff.

  • Provides technical guidance to onshore/offshore team members. Provides technical guidance to onshore/offshore team members.

To be successful in this role, the selected candidate will need to partner closely with the various application development and infrastructure groups. There will be frequent interactions with business stakeholders, senior management, project managers, and technology managers. A strong partnership with Enterprise IT technology teams will be of critical importance as we work to implement innovations and end-to-end monitoring solutions across the enterprise.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning
  • 5 + years of experience in one or a combination of the following: strategic planning, initiative management or project management
  • 5 + years of experience developing or supporting IT Service Management solutions (e.g. Incident Management, Change Management, Asset Management and Configuration Management)
  • 5+ years of Incident Response Protocols and Tools experience
  • 3+ years of experience with logging, monitoring, and event detection on cloud or distributed platforms
  • 3+ years of experience with Jira software, Confluence software or combination of both
  • 2 + years of experience working with vendor software, technologies and tools that are enterprise solutions

Job Overview The Business Support Manager (BSM) is responsible for increasing the assigned Distributors (DB's) market share of Service aftermarket revenue by providing business operating efficiency recommendations and/or solutions. In this role, the BSM will educate and assist the DB with conducting product support market studies, developing specific marketing plans and support the implementation of those plans as well as establishing the means within the Distributor business system to manage, monitor and report on the progress of those plans. Works with the DB to ensure the appropriate tools and resources are available to support the additional business (manpower, facility, tooling, training, etc.) opportunities. Partners with the DB Product Support team to implement the various KAC Product Support programs, systems and policies with the intent of gaining Service market share and to generate revenue throughout the full life cycle of the machine with the goal of increasing customer retention. Key Job Responsibilities 1. Creates and implements detailed Service marketing plans with targeted Distributors that align with KAC's short and long-term strategy plan. 2. Through Service operations studies/ activities (Distributor Study and Joint Work Plan - JWP) ensures Distributor is prepared to take on the additional work generated by the marketing plan. 3. Conducts Product support market studies at targeted Distributors to determine market potential and share on a particular segment. Should collaborate with Parts Field Sales staff when possible. 4. Assists in the development of JWP to track aftermarket sales performance for selected Distributors. Monitors plan results and amends as necessary. 5. Assists in the development of JWP for selected Distributors to track Service Key Performance Indicators (KPI) progress. Monitors plan results and amends as necessary. 6. Establishes appropriate changes in Distributor business systems to ensure proper accounting, tracking and reporting of plan progress. 7. Assists in the development of Customer Technical Support programs as required. Qualifications/Requirements 1. Minimum BA/BS degree in Business Management or Marketing with 5 years heavy equipment or automotive industry experience related to product support or aftermarket sales; or 10 years industry experience at a distributor with at least 5 years in a Product Support sales position. 2. Must have the ability to work with all levels of the organization and instill trust and credibility. Demonstrated ability to lead people indirectly, cross functionally and externally in order to influence and recommend improvement process to distributors. 3. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to persuade distributor management team as this individual's role is to be a consultant to improve the distributors business process. 4. Effective communication skills and ability to communicate and present ROI to Executive distributor management. 5 Must have flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver's license. Must be physically able to climb ladders for distributor parts inventory. The travel required for this position is done by both plane and rental car. This position may be required to walk around stock yards on gravel or uneven pavement, required to climb and pull themselves up on mining and construction equipment, which can be both quite large and tall, in order to troubleshoot problems. Due to the nature of the position, the individual may have exposure to adverse weather conditions (hot, cold, humidity, etc.) due to the customer and distributor work sites (Example high altitude, stock yards, etc.). 6. Must be able to work in a challenging environment and meet strict deadlines. 7. Must be familiar with distributor business processes. 8. Must understand financials and accounting foundation in order to put together the financial data. 9. Must be PC proficient specifically with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and good working knowledge of Access. Visio and SAP experience a plus.
