PURPOSE

This is a split role (50/50) in the support of Director of Compliance and Director of Finance.

As BSA Analyst

Responsible for performing certain functions within the Compliance Department. This position will require the employee to perform BSA and compliance administrative tasks for the bank in order to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Compliance programs. The BSA Analyst serves as support to the Director of Compliance for executing and following up to ensure that the bank is administering all aspects of its Bank Secrecy Act and Compliance Programs.

As Staff Accountant

Staff accountant will be responsible for maintaining of financial information; develop and maintain strong working relationship with Senior Accountant and other areas of the Bank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties/activities to successfully perform the position are listed below and are subject to change as conditions warrant.

Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance

  • Maintain current knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and all related AML/OFAC/CIP regulations.

  • Review and ensure completeness and accuracy of new account documentation and quality control systems by completing new account checklists.

  • Assists with New Account Consumer and Business risk profiles.

  • Maintain CIP Exceptions Log and follow up with staff on account exceptions.

  • Assists in the monitoring of account activity for suspicious patterns and activity, conducts suspicious activity report investigations, high risk customer/account reviews and recommends when to file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)

  • Assists in CTR/SAR quality control monitoring and reporting.

  • Validate teller and deposit transactions within the Bankers Toolbox system.

  • Review File maintenance reports (including DDA, SAV, COD, Change of Address and Stop Payments)

  • Review OFAC suspect matches report monthly & Fincen314a Bi-weekly listings.

  • Participates in the development, maintenance and updating of all BSA/AML/OFAC/CIP policies, procedures and compliance as they relate to the BSA program. Supports and assists with department and bank strategic goals.

  • Assist in special projects as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Staff Accountant

  • Maintaining of general ledger accounting system.

  • Assist in weekly accounts payable processing.

  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes

  • Assist in financial reporting process including management and regulatory reporting.

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of selected B/S and I/S accounts.

  • Assist with annual regulatory, external and internal audits.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION(BSA / Staff Accountant)

  • High School diploma required; College degree preferred.

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience, including analytical skills and BSA/AML/OFAC experience.

  • Proficiency in Horizon or similar banking related accounting software package

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Good analytical skills.

  • Ability to complete tasks within established timeframe and meeting regulatory deadlines.

  • Maintain professional attitude to both internal and external customers.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office including: Outlook, Word, and Excel applications.

  • Utilizing a BSA/AML automated system (Bankers Toolbox preferred).

As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of grants financial management functions including communicating with OJP grantees, supporting federal staff with budget research and analysis, and providing recommendations for financial actions. This position requires timely, detail-oriented, and efficient accomplishment of all tasks, strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to work with federal clients independently. This position will report directly to federal client managers and is located on federal client site in Washington, D.C. near the Gallery Place metro station. Key Responsibilities: * Supporting the Office of Justice Programs' Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) in various grants financial management activities, including but not limited to: * Assisting with pre-award and post-award grant financial management operations * Assisting with vendor reconciliation and maintenance * Assisting with budget reviews, payment adjustments, reconciliation and closeout * Assisting with administrative and technical support for financial monitoring and grantee training and technical assistance to support recipient compliance with applicable policies and regulations * Carrying out file management, including the scanning of documents and electronic file-keeping. * Performing miscellaneous ad hoc tasks as assigned by OCFO. * Drafting and editing deliverables including but not limited to budget/financial management reports, and monthly project reports using Excel, PowerPoint and Word. * Maintaining regular reporting and communications with off-site ICF managers and proactively communicate about workload, questions, and topics for discussion related to strong client support. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field such as Business Administration, Auditing, or Financial Management * 3+ years of demonstrated experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, grants, or financial management * Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel with strong keyboard skills. * Demonstrated facility with a variety of information technologies. * Experience designing business processes that help individuals coordinate their work and documenting those business processes in the form of flow charts or written procedures. * U.S. citizenship is required. * This position requires an OJP security clearance due to the handling of personally identifiable information (PII). Candidate must currently hold or be able to obtain clearance. Preferred Skills/Experience: * Facility with technology, e.g.; setting up audio/visual equipment and comfortable with technologies that facilitate virtual meetings and communication * Experience with a variety of information technologies, including shared repositories for electronic files, such as SharePoint or Dropbox. * Experience with the administration of Federal grants programs. * Facility with web-based computer applications. * Facility with making website changes using a content management platform.
