The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic Support Unit, consists of Washington DC Operations, Marketing & Communications and Strategic Development. The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and competition to influence and drive the growth of Ball Aerospace and facilitates collaboration across the business enterprise to increase opportunities.

Brooke Owens Fellowship Intern - Strategic Operations

The Brooke Owens Fellowship Program offers paid internships at leading aviation and space companies and organizations for passionate, exceptional women seeking their undergraduate degree. Ball Aerospace is a host institution for the 2021 Brooke Owens Fellowship Program. Those who have not applied through the Brooke Owens Fellowship program will not be considered eligible applicants.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare for, attend, and distribute analysis of Congressional hearings and meetings with key congressional staff.

  • Provide research and analysis on key topics, to include policies and legislation impacting our customer community, including in Department of Defense, NASA and NOAA.

  • Research, write, edit, and proofread copy for company publications, intranet, website, social media, scripts, marketing materials, and employee events.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and business development, as directed.

  • Provide assessments of markets and business opportunities important to Ball Aerospace, as directed.

  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships within the department and across the company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Make formal and informal presentations both orally and in writing.

  • Ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to engaging internal and external stakeholders.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

  • Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2021. We will also accept students enrolled in a post graduate program.

  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Degree in a STEM field or political science, public policy, business, economics, marketing and communications or public relations preferred, along with an interest in pursuing a career in aerospace.

  • Effective in working with people at all levels and willing to contribute wherever needed, providing leadership to operational activities as well as senior executives.

  • Diplomacy, influencing, collaboration and team skills.

  • A demonstrated ability to perform concise and insightful analysis of complex topics.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent leadership, judgment, and organizational skills.

  • An interest in the intersection of technical and policy/business issues, congressional and executive branch budgeting process, and/ or policy development.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean room, or production floor.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Relocation for this position is available.

Support Civilian Law Enforcement team with pre-sales and some post sales activity. Researching customers. Preparing customer quotes and presentation. Attend customer calls and meetings to build relationships and develop understanding of the customer and Lumen's internal processes. • Research and generate lists of potential contacts within the account base. • Provide input on customer briefs and presentations. • Assist the sales leads in pricing various CenturyLink products. • Support the revenue retention efforts. • Assist in the evaluation of new sales opportunities. Qualifications Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher (preferred) Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, in a rising junior, rising senior, or masters level status at time of internship. Graduating between August 2021 - May 2023 Education/Degree: In pursuit of a bachelor's level degree in business, accounting or finance in a senior level status at the start of the internship.
