Position Summary:

Broadcast engineer to provide technical support to the Replay Center camera system. Will troubleshoot any problems regarding the camera, video, audio, and communications involved in the system. Addionally, this hire will provide general engineering nightly support.

Major Responsibility:

  • Interact with and support Referee officials, Production, IT and Operations Staff Responsible for smooth operations of technical feeds in and out of the instant replay center.

  • Check-in all inbound and outbound feeds for technical continuity

  • Perform on call on-site remote emergency trouble-shooting and repairs

  • Support/manage non-linear recording devices.

  • Assist with supervision, facility design, construction and installations as necessary.

  • Detailed technical reports.

  • Arena Network (HSAN) support including remote troubleshooting and the ability to lead remote technicians to resolution.

  • Liaison to vendor for product support (rentals, upgrades, new product development, etc.).

  • Minor equipment repairs (cables, PC board replacement, etc.).

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of video compression and transport systems and technology.

  • Must have strong knowledge of broadcast systems and operations and possess the ability to assemble and operate studio, post and on-air production systems.

  • Experience in supporting non-linear devices such as EVS or equivalent Knowledge and ability to handle systems routing, quality control issues, and variations in production requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and creatively.

  • Willingness to travel and accept shift and weekend assignments.

  • Experience with HD broadcasts and knowledge of HD systems.

Education:

College degree in Communications/Engineering or related field required In lieu, a college degree significant field experience will be considered
