Job Summary:

WFMY News 2, the TEGNA station in Greensboro, NC is looking for a Producer for our innovative, creative newsroom team. The producer must be curious, creative and collaborate in a newsroom with a strong editorial voice.

Our show producers create interesting and informative newscasts, with an emphasis on the use of video, graphics, conversational writing and innovative formats.

The ideal candidate will share innovative ideas for daily content, while maintaining close attention to detail. This producer must be able to write concisely and execute the goals of the newscast with near perfection, while also meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft, build, mold, visualize, conceptualize the lead story, deep-dive content, and specialized material for the newscast.

  • Use creative production techniques like graphics, editing and new forms of media to enhance stories

  • Work directly with management to consistently build a high-quality news show

  • Use social listening research, discover and distribute content

  • Write in an exciting, accurate and creative way

  • Enterprise news stories

  • Lead and inspire a team to work together for a great newscast

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in journalism, communications or related

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience producing/line producing for newscasts

  • Understanding of the tenets of journalism

  • Proven experience producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content

  • Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook

  • Knowledge of ENPS and Edius preferred

  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time-sensitive deadlines

  • Experience calmly handling live, breaking news situations and changing events

The innovative space will be designed for customized, interactive client experiences, and will be furnished with advanced Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies - the application of physical and digital technologies from startups and leading manufacturing hardware and software solution providers, in pursuit of enhanced performance and value. The role The Smart Factory @ Wichita team is currently seeking an experienced Broadcast and Technical Director to own the strategic development and creative integration for virtual and hybrid event design and production at The Smart Factory @ Wichita. This role will report directly to senior leadership and work closely with teams across and external to the organization to deliver immersive and impactful virtual and/or hybrid experience for our visitors, clients, and ecosystem partners. This role is self-directed and will work hand in hand with the Experience Manager and Operations Manager to successfully deliver client and other visitor engagement experiences. Visitors may include students, technology partners, internal stakeholders, government officials and more. Engagements are expected to include a combination of in-person and virtual experiences and are expected to include a diverse range (video, hands on, workshopping, etc.) of engagement modes. This candidate should have a passion for technology and design, and strong working knowledge or passion for in technical production, experience design, storytelling, storyboarding, creative development, and project management. Work you'll do: Lead the strategy and execution for the strategic development and creative integration for virtual and hybrid event design and production at The Smart Factory @ Wichita experiences: * Lead the overall design, plan and optimization of the video and audio production elements at The Smart Factory @ Wichita experience. This may include supplementing tours, workshops, and other activities showcasing the opportunities made possible using advanced digital and physical technologies; conceptualize ways in which guests can take advantage of those opportunities within their own organizations and bridge the gap between physical presence in Wichita and digital presence around the globe. * Support development of the overall strategy to promote a positive, memorable experience for in-person, virtual or hybrid engagement * Help position Deloitte as an informed, proactive, trusted advisor and implementor of smart factory initiatives to push towards their business goals or desired outcomes * Storyboard, create run-of-show documents, conduct dry runs/rehearsals when appropriate, record video, and editing video segments using professional video production editing software (Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, AVID Pro, etc.) * Facilitate production shoots for both in-person and virtual event production / producing mid to large-sized internal and commercial webcasts and other virtual experiences from pre-production process to post-production (programs such as ON24, GlobalMeet, Webinar.net, Zoom, Microsoft teams, Socialive, etc.) * Define overall virtual and hybrid experiences that help set a foundation for strong, lasting client relationships that help us get to the heart of what matters most to our clients / visitors * Consult and/or create video media elements to support The Smart Factory @ Wichita marketing efforts * Work with experience delivery team to craft visual documentation methods, content creation and asset management to support debrief sessions, workshops and outputs from client visits * Draft best practices and playbook for senior leaders and presenters to support virtual presentation experiences * Participate with planning team to optimize the facilitation of experience activities (e.g. internal brainstorming sessions, internal team training, thought leadership workshops, client roundtables, advisory board panels, etc.) * Support facilitation of virtual and/or hybrid interactive workshops with clients / visitors and internal stakeholders to identify opportunity areas and explore desired outcomes Qualifications Required: * Experience using professional camera equipment and audio devices / understanding of video production equipment setup, including media processing and integration with video software tools * Experience in conceptual disciplines (writing, pitching, brainstorming) and executional proficiency * Experience with on-site directing and production management * Coordinating and planning hybrid experiences * Ability to create a positive guest experience in a hybrid work environment (both virtually and in-person) for our clients during visits to The Smart Factory * Understanding of backend website design development * Technical-directing experience with professional broadcast switchers and mixers * Ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment * Familiarity with managing social media platforms and content needs * Expert in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Experience in diverse group facilitation, including groups of senior organizational leaders * Experience developing innovative, entertaining, and engaging physical, virtual and "hybrid" experiences through the creative application of storytelling, engagement design, and discussion facilitation, preferably in areas related to advanced technology. * Experience with projectors, Touch Tables and LED hardware as well as Content Management Systems a plus * For the purposes of the Deloitte Smart Factory experience, technologies may include robotics, analytics and artificial intelligence, user interface design, additive and advanced manufacturing, augmented and virtual reality and others. * Not afraid to get your hands dirty and jump in whenever and wherever you are needed / ability to lift 50 pounds (Smart Factory production equipment) * Limited immigration sponsorship may be available. * Travel up to 50% (While 50% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
