WHPacific, an NV5 company, is seeking a bridge designer/engineer with two (2) to seven (7) years of experience to become an integral part of our bridge design team. Come be a part of a growing Pacific Northwest bridge team with the opportunity to be located in Boise, ID.

Responsibilities

  • Essential team member responsible for the design and delivery of complex and simple bridge projects in various geographic locations in accordance with state and federal standards.

  • Work in cooperation with bridge staff in other offices to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies and state DOTs.

  • Responsible for designing structural components, report writing, development of plans, specifications and estimates, quality control and assurance activities.

  • Quickly learn and apply technical mathematical concepts and engineering design skills, helping others learn them as well.

Qualifications

  • BSCE required. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred

  • EIT required, PE or SE license a plus.

  • 2 - 7 years engineering experience designing bridge projects

  • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD a plus.

  • Basic proficiency with Microstation and AutoCAD

  • Advanced understanding of seismic design principle and non-linear analysis techniques

  • Strong understanding of structural behavior and mechanics of materials.

  • Independently and accurately completing engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures. Familiarity with timber and masonry design a plus.

  • Mid-level proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
