Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides high quality medical care to the patients of St. Joseph Medical Center as a member of Breast Health and Surgery Team.

  • cares for individuals with history of breast cancer
  • cares for individuals with increased risk of breast cancer; ie family history.
  • completes work-up of palpable findings or abnormal breast imaging
  • treats and manages acute breast infections or problems
  • participates in Multidisciplinary Tumor Board discussions

Qualifications

Education

  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree: Physician Assistant (Required)

  • Or MSN or DNP for Nurse Practitioner

  • Master's Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • BLS Certification (Required)

  • HCCPA Re-certification exam every six years (Required)

  • Physician Assistant (Required) or Nurse Practitioner

  • Registration from Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance (Required)

Experience and Skills

  • 0 - 1 year Physician Assistant (Required)
  • 2 - 4 years Physician Assistant (Preferred)

Required Skills: Strong critical care patient management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
