Job Description

Summary

The Breakfast Cook helps with station assignments, maintains place, and prepares hot and cold foods for breakfast according to Chef de Cuisine's (or Executive Chef's) specifications.

Essential Job Functions

• Cooks breakfast foods including eggs and breakfast meats

• Set up station and mise en place to Chefs specifications

• May be involved in sauté, grill, and roasting stations

• Help organize kitchen items including, dry goods, kitchen equipment, storage containers, cleaning supplies, and food deliveries

• Set up, work, and breakdown station

• Maintain station cleanliness throughout shift

• Submit production needs for following day by shift end

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Culinary degree or equivalent preferred

• 1 year of food preparation experience preferred

• Simple sauce and dressing knowledge preferred

Supervision Given and Received

Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Received: Works under direct supervision of the Chef de Cuisine (or Executive Chef). Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
