Embassy Suites hotel in midtown Anchorage is seeking a part time Breakfast Attendant for in house restaurant early morning shifts. Must be friendly, reliable and motivated. Anchorage Food Handlers card will be required. Come join our award winning team.

The purpose of the BREAKFAST ATTENDANT is to connect with guests at breakfast, ensuring guest satisfaction and provide service recovery when needed.


  • Provides personalized service to all guests.

  • Regularly communicates and converses with all guests.

  • Prepares food and beverages according to recipe.

  • Fully understands and complies with all food safety requirements.

  • Sets up breakfast area before guests begin to arrive; displays the food and beverages in an organized and attractive manner according to brand standards/requirements.

  • Efficiently replenishes buffet with food, beverages and/or supplies as needed.

  • Maintains cleanliness of buffet area throughout the morning by reorganizing and tidying food area as necessary.

  • Properly disposes of used plates, utensils, napkins and/or cups as necessary.

  • May be responsible for keeping inventory stocked by ordering additional food and/or supplies as needed

  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner; follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.

  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.

  • Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor.

Summary The Catering Attendant position is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties typically found in a catering department. Additionally, Catering Attendants 21 years or older may fulfill the additional duties of Bartender, this is not a prerequisite to employment but preference may be given to candidates that can fulfill this duty. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Provide the highest quality of delivery and banquet service to the customer at all times. * Performs a wide variety of basic duties while filling in for others, responding to and handling special workload requirements, projects, or events. * Must be able to load required catering equipment and food into vehicles for transport, unload, set up and pick up for events both on UAA campus, as well as to some areas in the UAA Campus Area. We offer full service Catering 12 months a year. * This person must be able to complete the same high quality service and delivery at extreme cold temperatures. * This position may have to work some Holidays. * Must be available to work variable and split shifts Monday – Sunday starting at 5:00 AM until closing. * Must be able to read and interpret Event Forms and Pull Sheets and other written instructions or procedures. * Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. * May clean and maintain various areas and equipment. * Wears standard professional uniform and safety shoes at all times. * Will occasionally serve in a variety of settings including a typical bar setup or served to guests' table * Must be able to gauge guests' consumption to ensure a safe and pleasant event and can observe Federal, State, and local alcoholic beverage control regulations. * This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff. * Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. Minimum Requirements * Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. * Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire. * Must be 21 years of age or older to serve and prepare alcohol drinks. * Must have Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) certification contingent upon 30 days of hire. * Some combination of food service or catering experience that demonstrates a suitability for this type of work. * Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English. Preferred Qualifications * A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy. * Bartender: Must be able to obtain a TAPS or have a current TAPS Card issued in the State of Alaska. * Able to have effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoors: environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside. Noise level: Moderate Description of environment: This is an industrial kitchen/cafeteria environment located on a university campus setting.
