Job Summary

The Brand Manager will manage and plan our approach to market for the Spirits category. The Brand Manager will be the main point of contact for suppliers and will set up annual market plans, set pricing, manage the product mix, create brand goals and incentives, and communicate the sales plans to the Sales team. The Brand Manager will also be responsible for executing launch plans for new items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Set a plan for company growth within the Spirits category

  • Drive the profitability of Imperial Beverage

  • Maintain supplier relationships

  • Plan for long-term growth, including annual plans, supplier visits, and market approach

  • Maintain pricing

  • Assist in recruiting new suppliers within the Spirits category

  • Assist in launching new items and new suppliers, driving new profit channels

  • Generate and utilize supplier support, financial or otherwise

  • Forecast sales and place purchase orders with suppliers to maintain in-stock product

  • Coordinate with Logistics to ensure the timely arrival of product

  • Provide in-house brand training, as directed by manager

  • Plan incentives and communicate this information to the Sales team

  • Manage system data integrity

  • Sell Spirits in market at a minimum of four days per month

  • Attend meetings, conferences and tastings centered around the Spirits category

  • Additional duties and responsibilities to be determined

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent education and experience) in Business Administration

  • One to two years' experience with the Spirits category on the wholesale level

  • 21 years of age or older

  • Must possess superior communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly and efficiently while remaining calm and professional

  • Strong negotiating skills

  • Self-starter, highly motivated with a high productivity level

  • Strong analytical skills and numeric ability

  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to coordinate processes and work well with various departments

  • Ability to attain a Michigan Liquor Control Commission license

  • Occasional travel required

What You'll Do: * Collaborates with upstream company and business strategy process owners to develop downstream brand management processes for company-wide execution * Develops and maintains brand management processes across a variety of global businesses and mediums * Articulates brand messages, positions, value proposition and processes with credibility and confidence to employees worldwide * Assesses and gives direction on visual and verbal brand implementations * Helps maintain, evolve and educate others on the brand guidelines * Records and manages brand metrics; provides quarterly reports and makes recommendations for continuous improvement * Manages/develops relationships with businesses and professional service organizations—including digital, social and creative—to ensure our brand is successfully implemented * Partners with Marketing Operations, Communications, Public Affairs and other teams to advance corporate marketing objectives * Manages assigned project budgets, negotiates with vendors and measures results with a high degree of financial acumen * Uses exceptional organizational and project management skills to manage complex, multi-phased initiatives * Executes in a variety of modes; comfortable leading, influencing or supporting projects depending on the assignment * Actively listens and then synthesizes diverse inputs into process development and actionable improvements * Drives execution and achieves business results What You'll Need: * 5+ years of marketing experience in brand management, communications and/or digital media * 2+ years marketing experience in healthcare or related field * BA/BS in relevant field required, masters or related work experience preferred * Relevant relationship-building experience in a role that required strong consultative, collaborative, interpersonal, problem-solving and project management skills * Experience developing and managing centralized processes in decentralized organizations * Ability to deal with ambiguity and create process and structure where it does not currently exist * Ability to demonstrate learning agility and critical thinking skills to apply concepts in new situations * Ability to recognize uncharted issues as they arise and escalate to the appropriate level * Skilled at maintaining cooperative working relationships with all levels of management * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions * Ability to both strategically plan for the future and respond with temporary solutions to address immediate business needs * Deep understanding of web, digital and social platforms with the ability to manage or consult on projects with internal and external resources * Strong communication skills: verbal, written and presentation * Ability to brainstorm and refine ideas as a team/group to support a strategic imperative Work From Home: No Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
