Job Description: This position directly supervises sales strategy, program building, pricing strategy, margin and supplier specific key performace goals.
Also responsible for supplier specific brand training, planning, informing (ex. distributing programs, samples, sell sheets, etc.) and directing work, appraising performance, goal assigning, point-of-sale materials, rewarding, addressing complaints, and resolving problems through superior leadership. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develops, trains, and directs Sales Representatives to achieve sales goals and placement objectives to ensure that company standards are met.
Leads all parts of the sales process including targeting appropriate accounts, selling, education, and positioning the candidate for success within the account. May conduct strategic sales negotiations with key accounts. Responsible for the development and success of supplier portfolio of brands.
Sets up schedules and appointments to obtain new accounts and to service existing accounts along with the Sales Representatives. Survey market area, quotes, and orders to detect business trends and opportunities for new products or new applications for existing products. May assist in the development of sales forecasts and scheduling of product.
Plans for activities by forcasting conditions, defining objectives and strategies, and securing resources. Controls and manages sales perfomance by measuring and reporting results, evaluating and corrective performance, and administering polices and procedures. Provides first line of customer support by using tools and techniques for documenting customer interactions, addressing circumstances and behaviors that lead to customer dissatisfaction, and asking questions that can facilitate progression from problem to resolution stage.
Organized activites by structuring the territories, delegating work, and staffing positions. Provides leadership in making decisions, developing personnel, communicating with and motivating staff. Provides sales training, brand awareness, and development direction to internal sales professionals and chain buyers Plans and executes sales and promotional activities that effectively counter competitive trends by establishing goals for individual territories and distribution standards for individual brands.
Monitors and evaluated the activities and products of the competition. Attend weekly sales meetings for the purpose of disseminating supplier information, product, and sales training to obtain feedback on effectiveness, efficiency, and relevance of the sales and promotional activities. Ensures silo and full book sales teams are professionally and effectively selling suppliers' products, programs, and benefits compared to the competition.
Drives brand success via leadership selling against trade channels and actively supporting the selling efforts of Sales Representatives, District Managers, and Account Executives within the company. Directly responsible for implementing all supplier merchandising objectives and executing company sales and merchandising plans for both the On & Off Premise channels of Alaska state. Effectively manages use of all POS items.
Develops and maintains relationships with On & Off Premise key accounts. Conducts team and individual meetings to ensure execution of company goals and objectives. Regularly interacts with field management to update programming and brand priorities, brand standards and best practices leading to successful execution in the market.
Develops and implements brand focused programs to drive business that deliver measurable results. Prepares and maintains required paperwork, reports, and records. Manages selling expenses to authorized levels.
Prepares and executes appropriate promotions. Attend and execute chain resets with local teams. Planning and Analysis:
Manages quotas, sales targets, performance incentives and budgets. Develops awareness and familiarity of competition and remains apprised of market trends and development within specific product categories, geographic regions, and accounts. Responsible for monthly forecasting.
Accountable for compliance tracking on national account programs. Assists in the development of sales performance quotas and incentives for both the On and Off Premise teams. Monitors brand performance; oversees, executes and tracks programs and initiatives.
Requirements Job Requirements High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)preferred; one to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 21 years old. Must have valid drivers license, good driving record,proof of auto insurance (SR-22 is not acceptable), and own means of reliable transportation.
Minimum of 5 years beverage sales supervision experience preferred. Must be computer literate. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be self motivated, a self starter, and able to work with very little direct supervision. Highly organized, with a strong ability to work quickly and accurately while handling competing priorities.
