The Brand Manager will lead a variety of projects in support of growing and maintaining the health of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Brand. The primary focus will be supporting the Brand Marketing Director in the evolution and implementation of a highly successful national brand campaign. The ideal candidate is passionate about building brands and can work nimbly across a complex set of stakeholders, projects and priorities. This will include optimizing creative strategy & planning, managing agencies, guiding creative teams to deliver outstanding results, collaborating on content creation, and acting as a conduit for sharing best practices.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform planning and implementation activities that support the BCBSA Advertising Collaborative strategy, including but not limited to guiding projects, managing budgets, developing effective creative briefs, and overseeing production.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the BCBSA Advertising Collaborative, with a focus on client management and relationships. This will require working closely with Brand Marketing Director to understand the evolving needs of different stakeholders and recommending solutions for meeting their needs.
Help manage the relationship with a national advertising agency, including communications, budget management, and prioritization.
Manage a variety of ad hoc projects, ranging from problem identification, design and direction of analytical work, integration of analyses, development of deliverables, effective cross-functional collaboration, and clear communications.
Ensure high quality delivery of 3-4 in person Ad Collaborative meetings per year.
Required Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or related discipline
5 years of work relevant experience with specific experience in marketing planning and implementation
Experience partnering with external agency partners and other vendors
Strong brand building skills
Effective at both one-on-one communications and presentation skills; writes and speaks clearly and concisely with a diverse range of audiences; communicates in an open, constructive and honest way with teammates, peers and all management levels.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to gain alignment across multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
Strong project management skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel)
Ability to assess conflict and intervene to diffuse or resolve conflict that detracts from intended objectives.
Identifies barriers, problem solves and manages issue resolution including escalation as needed
Preferred Basic Qualifications:
Marketing and/or Digital Communications experience is essential, preferably in a B2C environment
Project and/or Budget Management
Experience working with agencies is a plus
Healthcare experience is a plus
Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research to drive marketing strategy development
Experience with building brands through effective use of social/digital marketing platforms
