Description

As our Brand Director for Entertainment Marketing, you will lead a team that seeks, bonds, serves & leverages the most relevant and authentic entertainment influencers for the right moments against key category/brand/business priorities. In service of the brand and in partnership with the categories, you will redefine sport culture. You will build and influence activations and strategic planning for key brand moments in partnership with category teams that drive brand strength, fuel consumer demand, strengthen our connection with consumers and dimensionalize sport and our athletes. You will know the target consumer and which talent is influencing the target consumer. You will suggest innovative, imaginative and resourceful ways to solve problems, overcome obstacles and take the game into new territory. You must be able to challenge out dated rules and thinking to accelerate our distinction. You will create multiplier maps, clear plans and journeys for our entertainment influencers, always putting the *athlete at the center. You will spend appropriately while being creative. You will never let the budget get in the way of great work, at the same time never letting great work be a license for poor financial management.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create & manage journeys/calendar/contract across product, service & projects for entertainment influencers

  • Constantly map & evaluate our entertainment relationships and partnerships

  • Execute category integration plans for key talent in partnership with Influencer

Marketing and Category partners

  • Develop strategic plans for entertainment partnerships in collaboration with the brand and product teams.

  • Connect & meet with key industry stakeholders and attend key events in the fields of entertainment & culture.

Brand & Product concept map

  • Lead the seasonal Entertainment Marketing influence concept map for North America

  • Drive alignment with NA and Global Influencer Marketing

  • Develop & execute clear product seeding roadmaps for entertainment influencers

  • Budget management & forecasting

  • Manage tier-1 relationship budget and communicate any variances to budget holders

Build and manage a winning team

  • Manage a team of entertainment experts

  • Ensure goal setting & career plans are prepared & shared in a timely manner

  • Be an inspiring & supportive leader and member of the entertainment marketing team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field

  • 8+ years experience in consumer marketing, or related experience in marketing strategy, planning and implementation, retail merchandising, display and consumer servicing, or events execution

  • 3+ years management experience

  • Strong knowledge of the athletic industry, entertainment industry and trends in the marketplace

  • Understanding of the competitive market, customers, and retail trends

  • Advanced degree in Business, Marketing or a related field

  • Strong understanding of the Nike matrix and product lines is preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Able to work well independently and in a team setting

  • Strong information-seeking skills

  • Travel 20% in the role

  • Able to meet all travel requirements for the position

We’re looking for a Sports Sales Director to take a proven live event ticket sales model and bring it to professional sports.</p> <p>Fans have sold more than 500k tickets to some of the best music festivals in the world through Verve’s software, including Bonnaroo, Beyond Wonderland, Electric Zoo, and hundreds more. We recently closed an $18m round of funding with an express objective of establishing advocacy programs in professional sports, and our developers are building the technology required to make that possible.</p> <p>We’re the best there is at running advocacy programs, and we’re looking for someone that lives and breathes the sports world to bring domain expertise. You’ll work with our Director of Strategic Accounts as the ‘tip of the spear’ establishing advocacy in the sports market.</p><p><br></p><p>Over the next 12 months you’ll:</p><ul> <li>Tailor our proposition and pitch so it best fulfils the needs of major league sports franchises </li> <li>Sign contracts with major league sports teams to sell tickets through advocacy programs</li> <li>Work with our client success teams to track campaign performance and iterate rapidly to make 2018-19 a real revenue driver</li> <li>Use your experience within professional sports to influence the direction developers take to build the best tool possible for teams</li> <li>Travel regularly to meet teams in person from all major leagues - NBA, NHL, MLS, MLB, NFL</li> </ul> <p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>What background will you have?</p><p>We’re looking for someone that understands the in’s and out’s of the business of pro sports teams.
