Background

SAP.iO is a unit within SAP, charged with creating the next organic growth engines for SAP as an organization.

With more than 20 billion in annual sales, SAP manages an enormous diversity of businesses. However, moving the needle inside of SAP's dominant enterprise business requires adding more than incremental innovation it requires the development of massively disruptive organizations.

The task of SAP.iO is to create those businesses, using SAP's unique position and differentiated data sources to transform industries ranging from people management to security.

Purpose

The SAP.iO incubation process is modeled after a venture-capital approach to building startups. Startups built within SAP.iO incubation operate differently to traditional corporate business units in three distinct ways:

  • General Managers are entrusted with end-to-end responsibilities for their projects building cross functional teams to tackle business problems;

  • Teams manage cash budgeting is not on an annual basis but provided to prove business value over multi-year horizons;

  • Boards are created to provide oversight and guidance on a regular basis providing senior sponsorship and involvement throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Startups that receive funding through SAP.iO incubation must be big enough to move the needle at SAP, attack new market opportunities for the company, and be able to be tested through rapid iteration and constant customer feedback.

We are looking for an experienced product manager looking for an exciting opportunity to manage the development and release of several products. This role will not be assigned to any one startup, rather, they will be a member of our centralized incubation team overseeing PM work across our portfolio. That said, if a particular business is of interest, there are opportunities to join that startup as they grow.

What you'll be working on

  • Engage with each startup to provide brand, content, and communication support.

  • Collaborate with the venture founding teams to craft an end-to-end brand strategy, and help support them in telling their stories for:

  • Events and cnferences

  • Bard meetings and pitches

  • Public-facing presentatin decks and email newsletters

  • Visual cllateral (posters, swag, etc)

  • Vide editing for social media and internal purposes

  • Work alongside product designers to bring the overarching story into the product experience

  • Support the SAP.iO and New Ventures & Technologies leadership teams with brand and communication design projects

  • Improve the office environments all over the world by showcasing our amazing work

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience creating compelling and inspiring brands with an exciting portfolio of a variety of projects

  • Excellent communication skills, which is especially important for our teams located all over the world (SF, London, Berlin, Tel Aviv, and Bangalore)

  • Confidence in your work be able to sell and stand up for your designs and take constructive criticism

  • Be obsessed with the details but also have a good understanding of the broader strategy

Location & Travel

The SAP.iO office is located at 334 Brannan Street in the South of Market area of San Francisco. Some startup teams will be located elsewhere, including our Palo Alto campus as well as our international campuses. As such, there may be travel involved, but no more than 15%.

Skills and Experience: * 4+ years brand design experience at a top agency or consumer company * Demonstrated ability and passion for branding and visual identity systems — understanding how to build a brand from the ground up, as well as experience in digital and/or consumer experiences * Experience leading projects and process spanning insights, ideation and validation through to design implementation. * Meticulous attention to detail applied across usability and aesthetics. * Excellent communication (verbal, written, visual); openness to collaboration and continual growth.
