The BRAND + COMMUNITY COORDINATOR will work to develop, manage and streamline the WBIR brand. They will partner with the Director of Marketing and other department heads to conduct ongoing brand analysis, spearhead brand education initiatives within the station, and ensure all WBIR products and community projects are aligned with the brand.

One of the most important aspects of the WBIR brand is its engagement in and service to East Tennessee. This person will work with our non-profit partners to facilitate opportunities for the station to make a meaningful impact on our community. They will be bold in their conception and execution of these events and initiatives.

The Brand + Community Coordinator is highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once. They have a deep understanding of the WBIR brand and strive to evolve that brand as it responds to an ever-changing environment. This person displays peak professionalism when engaging with community leaders and always represents the WBIR brand well.


  • Partner with the Director of Marketing to execute brand initiatives both internally and externally

  • Serve as the WBIR Brand Ambassador to the community and foster partnerships with local non-profit organizations

  • Ideate big, bold community campaigns and activations that make a meaningful impact on East Tennessee

  • Lead Community Engagement committee to pursues new opportunities and evaluates TEGNA Foundation grant applications

  • Document, track, and maintain detailed project records and present yearly community engagement report to staff

  • Manage event sponsorships and oversee contracts for those partnerships

  • Spearhead onboarding process and brand education opportunities for staff

  • Work with Marketing Director to develop station brand guidelines and oversee governance

  • Manage promotional strategy on a daily basis to ensure the best possible placement for WBIR promotions/PSAs on log

Job Requirements:


  • 1-3 years in marketing, brand management or community relations

  • Ability to execute large scale events, multi-task and adhere to deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • An attitude that demonstrates a "growth mindset" and team mentality

  • A standard of excellence for themselves and others

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
