The job

We're looking for a Brand Designer who's passionate about design and wants to join us on our mission to help entrepreneurs and businesses grow with confidence. You'll be part of the broader marketing team, report to the Brand Design manager, and will collaborate with stakeholders across the company to create print and digital collateral, landing pages, social assets, and more.

You're a self-motivated person with an eye for pixel-perfection and fine-tuned aesthetics. You enjoy the challenge of explaining complex ideas simply. You think strategically and aren't afraid to dive into the details. You have experience working within brand guidelines, but also enjoy finding new and creative ways to apply them. And you're excited to tackle every projectno matter how big or small.

What you'll do

You should be able to:

  • Contribute to projects from the initial brainstorm to delivery while collaborating with other designers, marketers, and/or teams from across the company

  • Maintain, evolve, and translate Justworks' design guidelines across multiple channels to ensure a cohesive brand experience

  • Design and deliver collateral including ebooks and one-pagers

  • Design and deliver digital content including social media posts and landing page

  • Contribute to the development of company swag


  • A portfolio that demonstrates range of creativity across digital and print

  • 1-3 years of experience at an agency or in-house design team (relevant internships count!)

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch and/or Figma

  • Strong knowledge of layout, color, grids, icons, and typography

  • Extremely strong communication and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of latest design and digital/social media trends

  • Able to manage multiple projects of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Director of Communications & Brand Research to sit on Brand & Culture team (Communications and Culture division). The incumbent will help drive brand and communications research that aims to measure our effectiveness in growth and ongoing perception with current and future audiences, measure the effectiveness of how we express our brand through message testing using both quantitative and qualitative research, report and analyze target audience insights through both public polling and research data and managing federation wide audience projects such as patient recruitment research both regionally and nationally. This role will work across multiple departments at Planned Parenthood and collaborate with other researchers within Development, Action Fund, Policy & Government Relations and the Office of the President. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Build a Communications and Culture division research program in partnership with leaders in the division that includes the development and execution of a strategic research agenda that supports the goals of the division, organizational priorities, and affiliate needs. * Develop and manage Brand, Audience, Messaging and Marketing Research projects- creating and executing cross-divisional and affiliate and/or partner inclusive project plans, driving the RFP process, guiding the methodology, ongoing management of vendors and when applicable, leading the research projects with vendors direct. * Engage with affiliate leaders in the development and execution of research to ensure the research reflects their needs and research and messaging recommendations are adopted. This includes regular engagement with key affinity groups and leading affiliate advisory groups. * Leverage research expertise and outcomes to advise on division and organizational strategy by identifying and maximizing opportunities to expand and deepen brand relationships, recruit and retain more patients, and grow the engagement of supporters. * Collaborate with cross-divisional research teams and support various internal teams by supplying and guiding them through key research, providing ongoing analysis, and advising on campaign strategies and targeting. * Create scalable ways to share research with the national office, affiliates, and partner organizations through presentations, webinars, and the development of collateral whether of our own proprietary research, partner research or readily available audience and market research. * Effectively collaborate with external research vendors throughout research process: data collection, data processing and results reporting; QA vendor deliverables throughout all phases of project. * Organize and support the socialization of research across the Federation and with partner organizations, when applicable, for the Vice President of Brand & Culture and Senior Vice President of Communications & Culture. * Serve as a partner to affiliates conducting research to ensure their resources are maximized, their work builds on existing knowledge, and key research questions are answered to inform the direction of their work based on their local environment. * Proactively stay current on polling programs and platforms, identifying best practices through partners and vendors. REQUIREMENTS / TECHNICAL EXPERTISE * 8 + years of quantitative and qualitative research experience culminating in a sound ability to scope a research process, lead fieldwork, conduct interviews and perform audience research. * Non-profit or campaign research experience. * Excellent understanding of and prior experience with using audience insights to support a political or advocacy campaign, marketing and recruitment campaigns and general communications strategies. * Ability to shape and lead strategic, systems thinking based upon insights gathered through research. Experience working within a variety of industries and/or background in organizational/business/brand/systems design is a plus. * Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; fluency and confidence in inspiring teammates and clients with audience focused rationale. * Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, exercising a balance between research rigor and inspiration. We are looking for people who can maintain a high degree of rigor throughout, who can work in a fast paced environment, but who also experiment in their approach and methodology. * Understands and practices various statistical concepts, research data, standards, and practices. * Analyze research data to find trends, patterns and differences in opinion among different audiences.
