POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Builds and maintains long-term trusting relationships with associates, management, and client management

  • Maintains consistency and highly visible presence in designated accounts within assigned territory and frequency of visits/service

  • Creates and maintains consistent account visit schedule and inputs into assigned system daily

  • Ensures quality experience is being executed by conducting regular quality assurance assessments at account/venue level

  • Ensures product look and display is consistent with protocol, plan-o-gram compliance, samples working properly, overall appearance and above presentation standards of competitive products

  • Attends required training sessions on assigned products/services. Participates in all client-sponsored training events. Maintains any formal certifications on product or service knowledge as assigned

  • Routinely trains and ensures understanding of retail sales associates on product, brand awareness, and brand image. Delivers ad hoc and special training sessions as assigned

  • Provides routine market intelligence (feedback) on current retail market conditions and/or opportunities that may affect sales or category share of product. Collects and reports information on competitive product and service offerings to management

  • Explores new business opportunities within existing client, either through primary or ancillary contacts, and/or at other locations

  • Communicates via assigned methods (verbal, written, formal presentation) to management all assigned reports on position activities by assigned due dates

  • Assists in the analysis of sales and market/territory data used to provide consultation and/or correction for under-performing markets

  • Assists in identifying growth opportunities for client sales and marketing initiatives

  • Proactively learns to effectively understand and appropriately communicate competitive products, market trends, and pertinent technologies

  • Participates in analysis of market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as assigned in collaboration with management

  • Evaluates, recommends, customizes, and implements operations best practices that support the business direction and promotes/enhances the desired outcomes to create a culture of performance excellence

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred with an emphasis in Business or Marketing desired. High school diploma required

  • Minimum four years' experience in retail, retail operations, retail distribution, merchandising, CPG, sales, marketing and service organizations required

  • Minimum three years' project management experience required. Previous account management experience desirable

  • Excellent communication skills and strong presentation skills with small groups required

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency required

  • Significant understanding of remote business tools such as smart phones, tablets, and/or laptop use, including trouble-shooting issues with connectivity

  • Remote home office environment with travel up to 80% to corporate offices, regional offices, client and/or vendor offices, training or convention venues, businesses and retail establishments

  • Potential for before and after-hours work, weekend (Saturday and Sunday) work and holiday (major national) work

Are you passionate about your pets and overall animal health and well-being? If you answered yes to the above questions we would like to talk with you. Blue Buffalo Company Ltd., is currently seeking enthusiastic pet lovers, who care about the health and well-being of pets, to join us in our efforts. As a Pet Detective you are responsible for being the face of our brands to pet parents in your assigned pet specialty stores. Duties: * Approaching pet parents by striking up conversations in such a way that shows your shared love of pets. * Sharing your favorite pet stories. * Involving pet parents by asking and listening to their stories. * Detecting the clues that make each pet parent's bond with their pets unique. * Identifying how our products can best honor the bond they have with their pet. * Showing pet parents which BLUE products will best honor the bond they have with their pet. * Appreciating pet parents for sharing their stories, giving you their time and attention, and caring about pets as much as you do. * Following our vision during your shift and all pet parent interactions. Skills: * Must be sociable while demonstrating the ability to be persuasive and engaging. * Must be caring while demonstrating the ability to attentively listen to others tell their personal pet stories. * Must be outgoing and demonstrate a willingness to connect with pet parents in a retail setting. * Must be open to regular coaching while demonstrating continual growth professionally. * A sales background is helpful, but not necessary. * We do look for passionate pet lovers who are excited to talk about Blue Buffalo products so current use of Blue Buffalo products is a plus. Requirements: * Must be 18 years or older. * Must be available to work Saturdays and/or Sundays. * Must be able to lift up to 30lbs. * Must be able to stand/walk a minimum of 4 consecutive hours. * Must have reliable transportation and be willing to drive to surrounding locations within 25 mile radius. * Must have an active e-mail account and daily computer access. Hours: * This is a steady, long term, and every weekend position. Saturday and Sunday being the primary days. This includes Holiday weekends. * Typical hours are 12 to 16 hours per weekend depending on the individual store traffic and availability in your area. Each store shift is 4 hours in length.
