Job Summary

Reporting to the Branch Manager and/or Branch Service Manager, the Branch Service Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, responding to customer inquiries, processing transactions, customer requests, resolving difficult/complex issues, and making quality sales referrals.

The Branch Service Specialist may receive day-to-day work direction from other branch officers. Depending on the office assigned, may be responsible for servicing specialty segments such as Priority and Cash and Save, etc.

Major Responsibilities:

Under guidance of office leadership, will be responsible for:
50% - Customer Service Transactions

  • Ensure understanding of and adherence to all operating policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide an outstanding customer experience when responding to customer requests and inquiries and processing transactions within assigned authority.

  • Respond directly to customer issues and complaints in a timely, professional and effective manner.

  • Escalate more complex issues/complaints to the appropriate supervisor or co-worker within the branch if unable to resolve directly.

  • Maintain cash drawer within prescribed cash limits and meet cash balancing standards.

  • Perform more complex tasks such as Safe Deposit activities, handling of customer requests/research, merchant teller services, remote branch capture, etc., in compliance with established policies, procedures and standards.
    30% - Sales Referrals

  • Identify and recommend appropriate bank services that result in quality sales and best meet customers' needs.

  • Participate in sales promotions and meet monthly referral goals.

  • May assist Manager in training tellers to effectively identify quality referral opportunities.
    20% - Operations/Risk/Compliance

  • Verify and/or approve various documents and transactions, (e.g., G/L tickets, IBC's, Customer Charges, Deposits, etc.).

  • Responsible for following and adhering to all bank operational and security policies and procedures, including compliance and privacy policies and procedures to maintain customer confidentiality. Conform to all government compliance regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 3+ years of experience and increasing levels of responsibility within branch operations.

  • Possess knowledge of banking products and services.

  • Requires strong sales and service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and clients.

  • Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. Essential Duties: * Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. * Follow through on all customer questions and requests. * Successfully complete QUEST in store training program. * Keep department supplies filled and maintained. * Follow established food safety procedures. * Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated. * Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage. * Sample department products to the customers. * Take special orders and inform the Team Leader. * Be aware of new products and their placement. * Maintain backstock areas and coolers. * Document product transfers, waste and spoilage using appropriate forms. * Practice safe use of all tools and equipment required by the position. * Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment. * Know and practice proper lifting techniques, report safety violations and hazards immediately. * Effectively communicate with all Team Members regarding proper department operations. * Properly package and wrap products for retail sale, wrap and store unused products in coolers. * Help cross-merchandise product with other departments. * Adhere to cleaning and maintenance schedules. * Attend all department, store and training meetings when scheduled. * Accept and process product from Receiver. * Answer telephones with proper etiquette when time permits. * Assist other departments when necessary to facilitate customer service. * Participate in regional and national sales promotions. * Wash dishes and utensils when necessary. * Rotate and fill meat and poultry cases. * Trim and bone meat and poultry upon customer request. * Skewer meat/poultry items for kabobs. * Marinate and/or stuff oven-ready items. * Heat soups where applicable. * Grind trimmings for ground meat (when certified). * Make sausages where applicable. * Regular attendance is essential. * Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader/Store Leadership. Job Requirements: * Ability to work well within a team. * Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. * Able to meet physical job requirements. * Must have a passion for natural foods. * Able to communicate effectively with others and convey enthusiasm. * Possess some customer service experience. * Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented. * Is available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department. * Desire to learn all aspects of Team. * Team Member must be in good standing. * Team Members with written active Corrective Counselings must disclose this information to the hiring leader when they are applying for a transfer or promotion. * Team Members on an active Final Warning are ineligible to apply or be considered for transfers or promotions.
