Position Summary

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for: managing a small branch office; referring loan applicants or forwarding loan applications to company loan officers, overseeing the operation of a branch office with total deposits of up to $20 million.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for auditing Resource Associate's drawers and vault cash on a monthly basis, then sending the completed audit sheets to the Branch Operation Administrator monthly and quarterly to the Audit Department.

  • Responsible for all cash in the branch. The Branch Operations Manger is responsible for making sure all Resource Associate's drawers, vaults and ATMs do not exceed their set limits.

  • Making sure the ATMs have adequate amount of cash and they are functioning with little to no problem.

  • Complete monthly over/short spreadsheet and send to the Finance Department at the beginning of each month.

  • Balance and reconcile Resource Associate and branch general ledgers and send balanced reconcilements to appropriate department(s).

  • Verify that all logs are completed and approved, i.e.

  • Night Deposit Logs

  • Petty Cash balanced and sent to the Finance Department once a month

  • Gift Cards

  • Dual Control Key Box

  • Monthly Security Checklist

  • Conduct monthly operations meetings and document meeting with all employees signatures

  • Conduct weekly branch sells meetings and document meeting with all employees signatures

  • Approve Security Checklist and Record. Send original to the Branch Operations Administrator (make sure a copy is kept in your branch)

  • Monitor sick leave, overtime and vacation for branch employees (report these findings to Human Resource)

  • Edit and approve time cards on a weekly basis

  • Approve all purchasing order before the order has been sent to the Purchasing Department

  • Ensure all security procedures are being followed according to First Guaranty Bank's guidelines

  • Assist with Loan Applications

  • Verifying all fliers and disclosures in the branch is up to date and in compliance with Federal Regulations

  • Making sure branch is staffed with appropriate amount of staff

  • Conduct performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, terminations and new hires

  • Attend branch operations meetings which is conducted by the Branch Operations Administrator

  • Providing platform services for special existing or prospective customers and assisting at times of heavy business

  • Verifying branch personnel has completed annual on-line training in a timely manner

  • Monitor and control safe box area. Responsible for monitoring the past due report and setting up drilling if necessary.

  • Adheres to the BSA Policy and all other Bank Policies.

  • Coach employees on a quarterly basis.

  • Monitor employee's goals and coach them on a weekly basis using Resource One.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of operations procedures and guidelines.

  • Ability to multi-task while leading and directing the work of others.

  • All new hires will be required to pass a background check, credit check, and drug screening.

Required Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalence to least 2-4 years experience in the operations or banking management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serves as the Customer Service Manager which involves conducting morning huddles and weekly staff meetings * Models leadership effectiveness by sharing best practices and recognition of team members on a weekly basis * Completes Staffing & Scheduling coordination and duty assignments to ensure efficient operation of the branch * Offers guidance, leadership, and coaching to Teller staff reinforcing policy and procedure * Assist with branch morning and evening duties to include opening and closing the vault, working and locking the Night Depository, setting up the Teller station with supplies and cash, and balancing the Teller window/branch * Oversees the branch Risk Management Review process and ensures dual control procedures are followed * Utilizes Cash Forecasting tool to control supply of money on hand to meet branch need and legal requirements * Promotes and processes deposits, withdrawals, check cashing requests, credit card advances, money orders, travelers checks, and other forms of negotiable items * Monitors and manages operational loss within a branch to include granting staff supervisory override for transactions, ensuring proper hold placement for loss mitigation, and outage resolution * Accurately utilizes equipment and remains knowledgeable of equipment functionality to include ATM, Cash Dispense and Recycler Machines, Currency Counter s and Coin Sorters to provide branch services * Observes, Coaches, and Models sales and service behavior for Teller associates and assesses performance daily * Promotes branch professionalism and the Standards of Excellence * Demonstrates highest quality of customer service to include greeting customer, using their names, making eye contact, smiling, thanking for business, and offering another product or service * Images proof work through branch capture machine to include reviewing work and making corrections * Compiles required and special reports as requested * Performs research and problem-resolution for customers as issues arise * Coordinates branch and staff Business Continuity planning and execution * Other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management * Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
