Pay commensurate with experience.</p><p>The Ambulatory Patient Assistant is responsible for performing basic supportive care to specified patients/families under the direction and supervision of an RN/Care Manager. Collects, documents, and reports data to the RN Care Manager but does not interpret data. A Place to Be Proud.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>1.Performs clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as necessary.</p><p>2.Collects, documents, and reports vital signs.</p><p>3.Completes screening questions and documents all items into medical record.</p><p>4.Promotes general patient safety and performs minor specimen testing.</p><p>5.Holds, positions patients and assists with procedures.</p><p>6.Preps all materials and supplies as needed.</p><p>7.Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information.</p><p>8.Ensures environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.</p><p>9.Identifies learning needs and attends continuing education as appropriate.</p><br><ol start="10"><br><li><p>Participates in educational activities offered by the business unit.</p></li><li><p>Acts as a preceptor of orientation and training of other PCA staff.</p></li><br></ol><p>Qualifications</p><p>Education: High school graduate or equivalent.</p><p>Licensure: State Tested Nursing Assistant strongly preferred, not required.</p><p>Certifications: Current CPR (BLS for healthcare provider required). Can obtain during training.</p><p>Skills:</p><p>1.Sound written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.</p><p>2.Demonstrated basic computer skills.</p><p>3.Must demonstrate competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.</p><p>4.Displays a positive presence and interacts with all levels of staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians. Experience: One year of patient care experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred within the past 3 years.</p><p>MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Occasionally, 1-33% of the time: Climb stairs/ladder; sitting; lifting/carrying 41-60lbs, 61-100lbs, +100lbs with assistance. May come into contact with fumes, gases, vapors, biohazard waste, machinery, and power tools.</p><p>Frequently, 34-66% of the time: Squat/kneel; reaching above shoulder; repetitive arm and hand use. <br><br> Lifting/carrying 040lbs; pushing/pulling 0-61lbs; depth perception-vision. May come into contact with blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases or pathogens, chemicals, and electricity.</p><p>Continuously, 67-100% of the time: Standing, walking, audible speech, speech clarity and hearing acuity.
