The Branch Manager of Welding Machine and Equipment Repair has overall responsibility for the critical issues of welding machine and equipment repair operations and profitability including: repair sales, repair sales growth, budgeting, gross margins, operating expenses, safety, customer service, inventory, equipment, building and vehicles, community relations, accounts receivable and resolution of personnel issues.

  • Directly manages the day to day welding machine and equipment repair operations including safety, repair tracking and invoicing, warehousing, pick-up and delivery of equipment and machinery.

  • Leads and manages a team consisting of Welding Machine and Equipment Repair Technicians, a Driver and an Administrative Associate.

  • Assists with development and execution of marketing plans to support the penetration of the market in collaboration with our Branch Management and Sales teams.

  • Manages welding machine and equipment repairs, sales growth and sales margins.

  • Responsible for collaborating with Branch Managers to ensure order accuracy and properly scheduled customer deliveries by Airgas trucks.

  • Manages branch machine repair and inventory; maintains housekeeping of repair area and warehouse.

  • Responsible for the management of all hard goods receiving and all dynamic deployment ( inter-branch repair orders) for timely completion daily..

  • Oversees employee training in procedural areas such as following all Airgas Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and safety regulations.

  • Partners with Airgas hardware vendors to schedule all required vendor product/repair training.

  • Manages branch operating expenses including overtime and office supplies.

  • Works with manufacturers to oversee warranty reimbursement payments.

  • Works with corporate accounts receivable to manage branch credits and collections.

  • Special projects and other duties as required.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in welding machine and equipment repair or similar industrial products.

  • Two (2) years of prior demonstrated management or leadership experience.

  • Prior SAP experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated planning skills: Identifies requirements; allocates, and effectively uses information, personnel, time, and other resources necessary for mission accomplishment; establishes appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals; develops evaluation criteria and tracking systems for monitoring goal progress and accomplishment; and specifies objectives, schedules, and priorities.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Proficient working knowledge of Google Office applications (Word doc's, Google sheets, and Gmail).

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
